  • Why no watch control?

The app works well. Offers better control than the native camera app. I was hoping to streamline functionality as a Final Cut 11 user, and have been looking for new options since filmic went subscription based. That being said, this being an Apple product, and not supporting any kind of monitoring or control from the Apple Watch is kind of unforgivable. Both filmic and the native app have done this for some time. I’m just going to have to keep using the filmic legacy app without updates until Apple rectifies this, or Black Magic offers it with their app.

This is an extremely glitchy app when zooming in and out it glitches during the recording. Also, it doesn’t seem to adjust everything on auto mode as well as the native camera app for iPhone. I also learned my lesson when it comes to the fact that it saves your previous settings so it doesn’t automatically turn it onto auto mode and you have to turn that on every time you go back into the app. Overall, the footage is less detailed than the native camera iPhone app. Very disappointing
  • Cannot record to external drive any more

Update. Support promptly contacted me. Turns out app can no longer save to external APFS drive, but external ExFAT drive works fine (docs will be updated to reflect this). Would prefer APFS for various reasons but ExFAT works and now I can use external drive again. Really like HEVC Apple Log codec option for internal and external drive. Back to 5 stars app. —— After the last application update I get two entries under System Settings -> Files & Folders -> Final Cut Camera, one on and one off. I cannot turn the off to on. If I turn the one that is on to off then the second disappears. I can turn back on (only one entry remains). But as soon as I leave settings and go back to the app the second Off version of Final Cut Camera shows up in the off state in the Files & Folders. Inside the app I can only record to internal storage. Cannot select, allow, or record to external storage. Tried deleting app with setting in off and position and upon reinstallation the two On and Off entries show up again in Files & Folders. Hope this is fixed on an app update soon!

Why the app won't let me turn on the flash light?
  • It’s ok

Like I said it’s ok, but I’ll stick with my original camera already installed on my phone. I really only wanted it so I could do multi camera with my iPad and as a way to watch on my iPad as I film paired with Final Cut Pro for iPad. To me there are just to many steps to make that happen. I also feel the iPhone and iPad should mirror each other being they are Apple products. I should t need a app to do it
  • Crashes

The app is great but the newest update crashes when I connect my mixer for audio. It’ll record without it, but adds more work for my workflow. Tried the app on my boyfriend’s phone and same thing. Used to work great for embedding audio.
  • Good, not great

It’s hard see how I would add my own preview LUT for recording purposes. Without this I can’t record the way I want.
  • SO close

I love that I can flip between cameras while recording, but it’s missing two features from the basic camera app that make a huge difference for my use case: macro mode, and changing between zoom settings in the same manner as the camera app while recording.
  • Almost perfect

Crash tooooo much… grids go vanish… easy to use but unfortunately unstable… Blackmagic for the “Moment” is best option…
  • Better moon shots on my SE 2020 with the 10x zoom!

Really enjoying this app, would have been 4 stars if I was able to take still shots with it as well. Other than that I have no complaints.
