  • It has grown

When I first acquired this app, it had a long way to go. It has now hit almost every goal that I thought it should’ve met. And I’m glad they continue to work on it because it’s my go to app. I swear I use it so much more than the real Apple Music by a long shot. It has helped me discover so much for my repertoire as an aspiring harpsichordist and violist.
  • Incomplete sets of music

It’s not good to have incomplete sets of classical music works by composers. If there is a multi-volume set, just have the entire set instead of skipping numbers. Other than that I am very much pleased with the app.

It is great to see a whole category for women composers for Women’s History Month. It has been a great way to find more good music. I hope you will keep it in the app moving forward not only during March.

I love that this app allows you to browse by period, composer, etc. I am learning about Classical music while at the same time enjoying it. But for some reason the app does not work well with my Apple HomePod’s like the Music app does. If they can work out the kinks, this will be a great app. Would also love to see a Jazz version of this app.
  • Very Limited

If you want to listen to Bach and Beethoven, this is the app for you. You can search by instrument, but only the instruments you might find in a typical European orchestra. No sitar or Indian classical music. No bagpipes. No guzheng or other Chinese classical instruments. Just piano, violin, clarinet, trumpet, etc. You also can’t search by key or mode. In the mood for some music in the Dorian mode? Tough. F# minor? You can only search for that if the piece has that in the title.

So much nicer than listening on Apple Music or Spotify. Really designed for best possible search and quality of sound.

I’ve been so frustrated over the years with Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube, because searching/asking for classical works was futile. When I discovered this app, I decided to quit the others and subscribe to Apple. I am listening to so much more than I was before, and I don’t have to be at home with my own collection. I so far have no suggestions or significant requests of the devs, because I’ve been using it only two weeks. I would enjoy more liner notes, though. I support another reviewer’s request for a queue function. Perhaps one day a music video feature?

I have literally been wishing that somebody would make this for like ten years. Everything that you could possibly want for classical is here; gone are the days of sifting through unrelated results trying to search for a specific work, gone are the days of hunting through the artist field to find the performer’s name, gone are the days of ignoring best of albums, etc. This app organizes classical music exactly as you would want. It’s perfect. Bravo, Apple.
