I am an amateur video editor/content creator and I have been using Final Cut Pro since 2018 or so. Easy to use for the basics, and I can find YouTube videos on absolutely any function that I want to know more about in seconds.
  • Great Editing Tool - Pro Format Support Lacking

As an avid Apple user, I’ve used FCP since Studio. I love the updates made to FCP 11.1, but still have issues with pro format support (MXF). The rest of the tool is fantastic, though at times requires a restart due to some random bugginess / performance issues. All in all, a great tool. Just needs to meet industry standards.
  • Too complicated

Often when I export a 30 gb video, it says I need to empty out space in my laptop. I have 8 TB of space. 2 TB free space. It’s odd that exporting a 30 gb video would take more than 2 TB of memory. I haven’t run across this problem with Adobe Premiere Pro or Avid, ever.
  • How?

I just imported some clips from SD card. Removed the card. Got "Misiing Camera" message as if the video was not copied to the library. This is getting worse and worse. Who need revolutionary features if basic fetures aren't perfoerming as expected?
  • From Avid to FCPX

I've edited three fiction TV shows, none fiction TV shows, fiction tv pilots, four short films, over 100 TV promos, documentaries, movie trailers, and more in FCPX. When I decided to switch to FCP about nine years ago, I didn't expect how comprehensive it is. The thing to understand is that you have to change the way you think about editing. If you're not up for it, it's better to start in Premiere, which is basically the same as always. Reading negative comments, I can see that these people haven't learned how to use the app.

As a passionate user of video editing software, I have to say that Apple Final Cut Pro has completely won me over. Its intuitive interface, paired with its powerful features, makes it a dream for both beginners and professionals alike. I love how seamlessly it handles complex edits while maintaining a smooth workflow. The magnetic timeline is a game-changer, making organizing clips and edits incredibly efficient. The vast library of effects, transitions, and color grading tools provides endless creative possibilities. And let's not forget how optimized it is for macOS—rendering speeds are astonishingly fast! Whether I'm working on short projects or feature-length videos, Final Cut Pro consistently delivers top-notch results. It's truly a masterpiece in the world of video editing. Highly recommended!

I can edit complex stuff so fast. Love it, super easy. I never lose progress even if I were to run out of ram and have a random crash (rare.) Adobe stuff drives me insane in that regard and they rob you monthly. As long as Apple keeps FCPX $299 ONE TIME it will forever be the GOAT.
