Use this if you’ve never used professional spreadsheet software before. For others, avoid at all costs. It’s a true shame it’s so difficult to remove from the operating system. Utter garbage. I’d give it 0 stars if possible.
  • Great Alternative To Excel

Until I purchased my 1st Mac, 15 years ago, I had only used Excel. Since then, I have been using both Excel at work and Numbers at home. They are both great programs. I like that Apple includes Numbers with all Macs and that it is upgraded free when necessary. The only thing I have to remember is to export to Excel when sending to someone that doesn’t use Numbers.

Numbers is an excellent spreadsheet tool native to the Apple Ecosystem and with the new M4 chip set and the addition of Pivot Table functions it out performs the expensive alternative.

Apple's Numbers app is an exceptional tool for anyone needing to manage data, create spreadsheets, or perform data analysis on-the-go. What sets Numbers apart is its beautifully designed interface, which is both intuitive and visually appealing. Unlike more traditional spreadsheet software, Numbers makes the process of working with data engaging, offering seamless integration with other Apple products and services. One standout feature is its ability to create stunning, professional-quality charts and graphs with just a few clicks. The app also offers a variety of templates that cater to different needs, whether you're managing personal finances, planning a project, or creating a business presentation. When compared to other spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, Numbers holds its ground well with its unique design and user-friendly approach. While Excel is often praised for its extensive functionalities and complex data processing capabilities, Numbers offers a more approachable and visually oriented experience. Google Sheets excels in terms of accessibility and real-time collaboration, but Numbers matches this with its seamless Apple ecosystem integration, ensuring a smooth experience across devices. Moreover, Numbers supports real-time collaboration, allowing multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously, which is a huge plus for teams seeking efficiency and productivity. The app’s compatibility with iCloud ensures that your documents are always up-to-date across all your Apple devices. In summary, Numbers is a versatile and powerful tool for personal and professional use. Its user-friendly design, combined with robust features, makes it a top choice for those who need a reliable spreadsheet application, especially if they are already ingrained in the Apple ecosystem.

As they say, there is brilliance in the basics. I have used Numbers to create and maintain my budget. Being able to quickly switch from phone, to table, to laptop has allowed me to document spending in real time. For the average person that doesn’t need to complexity of Excel, Numbers is a great alternative for basic data documentation.
