want to keep your files offline? it will empty them out anyway despite your preferences.
  • Was working well but something changed

For years the OneDrive app for Mac worked exceptionally well. Only the occasional hiccup as the folks with whom I use shared files are all using Windows machines. But recently something happened and the result is that what were native files in my OneDrive folder are now .url links. To access a file now requires going to the OneDrive folder using a browser window. I can still open those files using the native Word app, but workflow has slowed immensely. I hope that an upcoming app update will fix this problem.
  • Quite unstable on Sequoia

When I upgraded from Mojave to Sequoia I’ve noticed a lot more crashes (e.g. every time my computer sleeps, and once in a while otherwise). Never happened on the old OS!
  • Shared folders became in web links

The shared folders became links to the web version of OneDrive instead of being available locally
  • Won’t store to external hard drive

No matter what you do, it will keep storing downloaded files on the internal hard drive

Used to be seamless. Now can’t save files correctly, syncing issues, can’t open files. It is a mess.
  • Trash

This app is definitely a trash. I have to use it because of working. I wish my company could switch to other platforms. Onedrive keeps popping up different warnings and windows, I have no idea what is happening. Definitely trash.
  • MacBook M2 working well in 2025

Everything is working fine with OneDrive on my MacBook M2. I most of my 200+GB in the cloud, but keep a small portion with Files On Demand always offline. No issues on Mac, but there are glitches with the Files app with OneDrive on iPhone/iPad/iOS.

Here it is almost 3 months into 2025 and we still cannot create a OneDrive folder in our home directories with APFS. What is Microsoft even doing?
