  • Duplicated Files & Syncing issues

I honestly think having the ability to “free up space” and “make available” fantastic, however I had countless mounting issues and syncing problems. Causing in hundreds of duplicated assets with the extension having my Mac name, causing a lot of confusion with my clients and collaborators. I tried reinstalling many times and this issue keeps happening. I also got frustrated one time I went on leave and thought all files were synced but due to to some filename issue nothing got updated and I had to pay someone to access my machine and ensure it was all synced. Also when working with Powerpoint Desktop somehow the syncing gets very confused. Microsoft should pay more attention for Mac users

  • It’s finally done, OneDrive on Mac is dead

Update - after years of being barely functional, Microsoft has caved and is using Apples absolutely garbage File Provider API which has completely broken the ability to just DOWNLOAD ALL OF MY FILES FROM THE CLOUD TO MY COMPUTER. The only single job a file sync app has. Just download the files to my computer so they are always there, available, where I put them. I don’t want fake proxy folders and symlinks and confusing UI showing multiple “sync state icons”. I never know when my files are actually on my PC, most of the time they can’t open when I want them to and they need to be downloaded (even though I chose to keep all files downloaded in OneDrive’s settings) Still annoying (kept from original review), when prompting users for feedback, they implement a dark design pattern with a fake star rating, and button that says "like it? leave us 5 stars". Screw you and your misleading UI, I'll give it 1 less star for the way it requests feedback.
  • Update 11/21/24 — Finally fixed after 3 weeks of broken syncing!

11/21/24 — I will change my review from 1 to 5 stars on the next major update. The last MacOS update with the OneDrive major update cause all of our Mac business machines to stop receiving updates, we could only push updates out. In order to fix this, we had to manually pause and resume OneDrive syncing, which is unacceptable when you’re a medical office using OneDrive for EHR. It took the OneDrive team nearly 3 weeks to fix this! 3 weeks! Completely unacceptable when you use the OneDrive for business. OneDrive always has issues any time they push a major update or respond to a MacOS udpate. I get it, but it should never take this long to resolve issues. You'd think by now they would anticipate issues like this and try to test as much as possible. So if the next update they can launch without problems or can solve major problems within 48 hours, I'll give a good review. But again, this is not acceptable for business.
  • Great but Sync Needs to Be Faster!

Overall, i love that i can access my data on Mac, Android phone, and that One Drive is integrated into so many websites' upload dialogue box. However, my big concern is that after I save a file directly to the cloud and then immediately try to upload that file to a website that file is NOT visible for several minutes. There is also no manual resync option for one drive to solve this issue. This is suppppper frustrating.

why do you need macos 13 for a simple sync operation? this is outrageous.
  • Absolutely Stupid

I have a 1TB external drive I want to use for One Drive. One Drive lets me choose it but then promptly stores the One Drive folders under \users\my username\library\cloudstorage\onedrive and just puts a shortcut to that location on my external drive. I never remove this external drive. This is a stupid bug. Fix it. I noticed the installer creates the one drive folder under username\library before the installer even finishes loading. Clearly MS does not want you to change the location.

Version 24.201.1006 continues to freeze and crash....are you no longer making this compatible with Intel silicon? The latest version 24.181.0908 keeps freezing and crashing on my MacBook Pro running Monterey 12.7.6
  • All my files lost with every upgrade

I use OneDrive at my work environment and sometimes I use it in my personal computer to handle really heavy excel files, the only problem is that every time my Mac updates this app just decides to stop working. The main icon starts blinking trying to “log me in” at some point the app just starts resetting itself over and over. The only way to get it back to work is unlink my account and re-sync the whole thing. I can’t believe that a company like Microsoft is delivering so low quality products.
