They removed the column in list view that showed the user name. I want this column back. As an admin I have mulitple logins to the same machine. I now have no idea which device icon is for which login name without going and altering each device's friendly name to now contain the login name. Just irritating, and a time waste.
  • MRDP to Windows App is a downgrade

The Microsoft Remote Desktop app was a great app, but ever since it got changed to the Windows App, it's gone downhill. Poorer responsiveness, harder to organize multiple desktops, and the menu icon shortcut lost a LOT of functionality. I'm sure if this was being used for Azure/Cloud Computing, I'd have a better time with it. But I'm not. I can find other apps that work better for this. You'd think Microsoft would build a more functional app for their own protocol, but here we are.

The local network settings do not function properly so you can not connect to local devices even after toggle the settings in the privacy section.

I am using the app on a Mac laptop & the app window minimization buttons on the top of the open app window is in a different place than other mac apps so it is different than my muscle memory for other mac apps. Currently it is possible to copy and paste text from my computer into this app, but not hyper text links or images. This makes it difficult to do everything that I need to do my job.
  • Often encounter connectivity problems

When the connection works, it’s usually smooth. However, there are occasional issues where the mouse response position doesn’t match the visual cursor position. To fix it, I have to exit full-screen mode and re-enter it. But the bigger problem is that I often can’t connect to Remote Desktop, especially after macOS gets updated. If the app itself isn’t updated, it just quietly fails to connect without any error message. It really should detect this and prompt for an update! (There’s no update notification in the App Store either—you have to manually find the app, go to its page, and only then see that an update is available.) On the other hand, the connection success rate on the Windows version Remote Desktop Connect is much higher.

Use daily and it’s indispensable. One small problem is the mouse pointer vanishes after exiting a Remote Desktop session. Please fix for 5 stars. :)
  • Surpringly annoying.

The login process always makes me auth twice in a row. And then if the AVD shut down it tells me I have to do the process again. The configuration of the screen is wonky and sometimes it grabs focus on my mac randomly for no reason. I do not like using this program.
