  • Parenting more like spying

This app has so much problems and this is coming from a 16 year old teenager. This app slows down the internet even when it's turned on. The tracking location is sometimes not right. And the whole parent watching you what your doing is weird and when you have a restriction you can do anything like use Google to study. This app is not for parenting it's more like an app for spying.

The WiFi connection goes from decent (depending on what you use) to straight garbage once this app is installed, it delays your WiFi signal horribly, and if you delete it, your just gonna get forced to redownload it regardless on the truth, since I have grown up in a strict household.
  • Secure Family Companion: A Frustrating Invasion of Privacy

Secure Family Companion is an app designed to help parents monitor and control their children’s phone usage, but in reality, it feels more like an oppressive invasion of privacy. The app gives parents way too much control, making it feel like you’re constantly under surveillance. It tracks your location, restricts access to apps, and even limits screen time without any flexibility. The worst part is that there’s no room for negotiation. If a parent sets a restriction, you’re stuck with it, no matter how unreasonable it may feel. Want to look something up for school late at night? Too bad, your phone’s locked. Want to hang out with friends and use social media? Nope, they’ve blocked that too. The app also suffers from constant glitches. Random disconnections, incorrect location tracking, and overactive controls make it even more frustrating. Instead of fostering communication and trust between parents and kids, it creates a hostile environment where you’re constantly monitored. Overall, Secure Family Companion feels more like a tool for spying than for parenting. It gives parents way too much control, and as a user, it makes you feel powerless and frustrated. Avoid this app unless you want to feel like you’re living in a digital prison.

This app would be great if it didn’t disconnect the WiFi constantly. I’m not talking about the bedtime, im talking about how the VPN constantly disconnects and reconnects, leaving the phone nearly unusable. Plan on texting a family member? Too bad, messages won’t go through. Need to find an email? Good luck opening the app. Need to do school work via phone? Nice try, it won’t load. Not only will it leave your phone unusable, but this will break any trust you had with loved ones. “It doesn’t matter if they trust me, I’m trying to be a parent not a friend” is a great excuse until you wonder why your children never text or call anymore. Don’t get this app, it’s a genuine joke.

(Before I start I’m not some angry kid this is a genuine review) I don’t care if you get another child protection app for your kid or none just please don’t get this one, this app had some potential to be a good app but it’s just rubbish for the kid. First off when my parent put this on my phone I didn’t really care she just wants to look out for me but as soon as I got it my wifi was horrible and stuff doesn’t load and it’s not because of the wifi pause which I will also touch on, I would also like to note I only have this cause my little sibling got a phone recently so she made her get that app and I had to get it even though I had screentime which was just fine! GENUINELY, just use screen time it’s a iPhone feature it’s built in its super easy to put into your kids phone as soon as they get it, it does everything here AND IT DOESNT RUIN YOUR WIFI! That extra star was just me being generous this app has so much potential and that simple thing ruins it. Now about the WiFi pause! It’s ok to monitor your kids and Id say this feature is really iffy, turning off your kids WiFi isn’t a good thing because you can’t do anything or search anything especially if you a parent that forgets cause your kid has ZERO way to request for you to give more WiFi on the app (unlike screentime) and some kids may feel like they have done something wrong and not ask you In person or text I know I’m one of those kids for example: I did my dishes and my parent said once I do them I get my WiFi back I told her I did them and she forgot to activate the WiFi (parent if your reading this I am not mad at you or dissing you it’s just an example) I was too scared and shy to remind her as I usually am about reminding people and it took me like 2 or 3 hours to gather the courage to remind her. This is also a bad feature cause if you set it to turn off at a specific night to morning time there no way of getting it back cause as I mentioned you have to ask for more WiFi in person which kids can be afraid of and what if I need to search something up that’s happening at night (which has happened) but I can’t especially because it’s night your parents are probably asleep and you just woke up from something and don’t feel okay or sick let’s say your kid want to find tips or cures without having to text your parents (which they mostly likey won’t answer) call them (same thing) or go to their room or literally anything else but with screen time they can ask for more time and you can give them a scheduled time like 15 minutes - 24 hours until it goes back off and the kid has an option for 1 more minute on said website/app incase they need to do something and back on the WiFi in general topic you could have 4 bars and still have the slowest ever internet like you know the app is bad when you have to turn off the WiFi your connected to for it to work better ( and it still won’t work/ connect that well) and I promise I’m not over reacting I am dead serious, in all these “angry kids” reviews yes they talk about “you’ll lose your kids trust blah blah” but a prominent feature they all mention is that it ruins the WiFi seriously you can go check but this is getting long so I just want to say DONT get this app, use a different one, a better one. One that makes your kids phone usable!

i’ve seen a lot of minors on here complaining about the app but they aren’t all wrong. the internet on my phone is so so bad i can’t use certain apps anymore because of the internet, my mom has the ability to turn off my internet which is not good in a case of events when i need internet to do something important (school work, etc) and even when my internet is on it’s still so bad. to top it off trying to track someone is so frustrating because it’s not accurate nor can ik how far away my mom is which is also frustrating when i need to be picked up i can’t give an accurate estimate when people ask me. life 360 is better 🤷🏾‍♀️
