  • Cannot create a working guest network

The app is fine. Fairly limited. My big frustration is that the app is incapable of creating a working guest network. And then it keeps asking me to leave a review so right now in my current state of trying to make this work the app wins a big ol 1 star review.

I was able to log in to initially set up my wifi. Now when I log into the app, the home and account pages just show an error and says it can’t load. So, pretty useless as I can’t access my wifi settings at all. But I can pay my bill through it as that works of course!

What they don’t tell you when you upgrade from 1gig is that you lose the ability to monitor the devices on your account. You can no longer create groups, pause wifi, remove devices or have any control over who accesses and when they can access your WiFi. You can run a “health check” on this app, and that’s it.

So when I went from 2G to 5G I had to start using this app! This is the worst app ever I have used from google, it never shows my extenders even if they are working! I would give this app 0 stars if I could, it’s so limited and slow and I can’t believe they haven’t tried to improve it yet! This app makes me want to go back to 2G
  • Google Software is garbage

Hardware and cost for it is astounding. Software to back it up is hot garbage. App was missing buttons to troubleshoot or remove port forward settings. Settings don't stick after hitting save. UPnP doesn't work correctly for gaming systems. It's a nightmare that gets worse instead of better if going to 2gbit plan (Lots of 4K streaming, remote gameplay, and UHD video uploading as a media consultant)

Let me preface this review by saying Google Fiber is an excellent service. But the service is more than the fast speeds, it’s how you interact with it. The GFiber app has been unable to work with my service since day 3 when I turned on Bridge Mode ( to allow use of your own router) Long story short here are some stats: 27: number of days the app has not worked to do anything except check the ONT 3: number of changeouts we have done with routers and mesh extenders 3: truck rolls to my home to try and fix the problem 7: combined calls, chats to care or visits to GFiber space in KC. 3: escalations 0: resolutions. 4: app deletion/re-installs While I have service, it’s not performing and the app is the weak link. Please fix it.
