They make you call to cancel your subscription. Absolutely criminal that you can’t cancel online or through the app. Stealing $$ from people who forget about the awful news service.
  • The worst app ever!

I literally hate this app. I never know when it will work. I often delete and reload. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I am paying for this. If this keeps up, I will unsubscribe. Horrible app!!!!
  • The enewspaper edition doesn’t load

We consider the enewspaper edition the primary reason for subscribing to the Gsun. Unfortunately, with this new version the enewspaper is balky and successively downloads to my iPad only infrequently. If this problem isn’t fixed in the next few weeks we will likely cancel our subscription.
  • App Is Not User Friendly!!

This app is difficult to use, quirky, and simply not user friendly. The older app used to read the Gainesville Sun was easy to use and did not have a lot of extraneous junk going on north, south, east, and west! My husband and I do not like this app and will not be renewing the Gainesville Sun next year if the app is not improved.
  • When out of town, can’t pull up the current day news. Frustrating!

Great small city paper. App has been working all the time. Keeps me updated city & College events. Really enjoy keeping involved in current events.

I like to keep up with the latest news because I currently live out of state. There’s sometimes interesting stuff and others not so much.

I have read the Sun since 1985 Over he last 10 years it has gotten smaller and less informative. Mainly less local news. Much more city news was produced mainly because you had a city beat writer that put out commissions agendas from county to city. A few bits of information have made it through but a vast majority has not. These actions protect the powerful in our are to push the boundaries and beyond. Everyone I speak to are not happy in the direction our area is going. This all starts with the weakening and cutting by the Sun our information guardian of our area More information and local news needs to be added Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely Tom Fox

This new app is AWFUL, compared to the previous iteration. The old one took me directly to the pages of the Sun, didn’t have all kinds of things around the sides and bottom, taking up space for reading the articles, and, most importantly, didn’t have ADS! It’s so annoying to be in the middle of reading an article, and an ad pops up! I will definitely not be extending my online subscription to the Gainesville Sun past this month. We had already canceled our paper subscription after 33+ years, and unfortunately we will be canceling the online version.
