Cooking is something I shouldn’t lack in my life but that’s the reality. I’m tired of eating the same foods every year, if only I could find something that would help me cook variety of meals except only for my cultural preferences, now, I have variety of options, something that I lack in my lifestyle, if this doesn’t satisfy me, I wouldn’t be typing, oh, and I’m not a bot, this is my honest and genuine answer coming from a real person who has been struggling to cook for a family meal, breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc…after I have cooked and learned a few delicious meal from this app, I’ve been called a chef which is rewarding, the motivation doesn’t stop there, I want to become a professional cook for my family and this app is my sherpa. THANK YOU!

NYT Cooking is my go-to for any and all recipes. The breadth, depth and quality of recipes is supreme. The reviews and videos are super helpful.
  • App gets worse

Recipes are always great, but with each new update the app gets worse and worse. Harder to navigate, unnecessarily big videos that autoplay.
  • Useful on daily basis, could use some tweaks

I refer to NYT recipes almost daily and have many faves. The app could use some tweaks: please 1) always include metric measures, 2) state weight for ingredients expressed as a quantity which can offer too much variation i.e. “White part of leek” or “3 red peppers”, 3) state prep time and cooking time separately, 4) the search engine could option to plug in a couple ingredients and then find a recipe using those ingredients, 5) give parameters on cook time instead of saying “roast until done”. I guess there’s no way weed out idiotic user posts! Update of 12/24: delighted that metric measurements will now be stated for ingredients. Long awaited!

I was pleased to learn my request for metric measures has been implemented. Thanks for your responsiveness.
  • Great recipes, but filtering needs work

Great recipes, and the user comments are generally very useful. Also love the ability to add my own private notes for next time I want to cook a recipe. However, when it comes to filtering the app is sub-par. It only lets you filter by one tag at a time, which is silly. I want to filter by meal type (Dinner) *and* vegetarian. That seems fairly normal and obvious, but the app won’t allow it.
  • Love it.

    But always/especially read the notes!
  • Go Back To Photos

Great service for good recipes but the new format of shoddy tik-tock style videos as a default rather than professional photos is not appetizing. I understand this is trivial but it really makes me avoid using the app. Not a good change.
  • Recipe of the day

Been a vegetarian for 15 years and I still get meaty recipes of the day at least half of the time. How easy would it be to set dietary preferences in the settings and never have to get recommended a recipe I’ll never look at again? There are so many good recipes to choose from, it’s not like it would be hard. Surprised by this oversight daily…
