  • Sanitizing Trump

I’ve paid for my NYT subscription for roughly 8 years because I believe in honest, tough journalism. The reality recently is you’re not being transparent or complete about what Trump does and says. I’m won’t continue to pay for passive journalism that doesn’t accurately describe the horrible human he is.
  • Not a fan of the new design

Everything you swipe to the left are “extra” subscriptions - like The Athletic. Please. Then, when I want to know what my fellow 1 percenters are reading, it’s five swipes to the right plus one click. Previously, it was just one click. Seems like a step backwards.
  • Not the NYTimes it should be

Calling out the Democrats and Biden on the age issue while failing to take a similar principled stand on the GOP and Trump (when the cognitive issues are so obvious and worse) reveals the falsity of the once great NYTimes. Sad to see this great institution behaving so fearfully at a moment when courage and clarity are so important.
  • Trumpers

Youve become beholden to Trump. How you haven’t written about his mental capacity and yet wrote about Hillary’s emails a million times is beyond me.
  • Works but poorly designed relative to others

This app works, and the daily games are great, but please check out the visual and organizational design of The Economist app for a great example.
  • Could not…

…live without the NYT! Grew up reading it and still look to it as the newspaper of record. Look forward to opinions, essays and reportage every morning, especially surrounding the upcoming elections.

I contacted NYT customer service because I have been billed for two accounts through my PayPal for years. The reps were nice, but the NYT refuses to refund more than two months, Despite maintaining an existing all access account. Bad policy.
  • Irritating slide show

The slide show, rotating set of photos, that generally appears at the top of the home page does not allow you to drill down for details about the individual photos. If you tap on the photo, it takes you the underlying story, which may or may not include the photos from the slide show that you are interested in. Also, very irritating that the iPad app no longer works with iOS less than 16.0. Browser version is a poor substitute.
