Prince of Persia: Lost Crown

I initially played this game on PS5 and experience was really awesome and game has great story and game play is really engaging. But when game released on Mac I bought it again but this time experience wasn’t that smooth, every few seconds you’ll see some stutter and its been 3 months and there are no updates on Mac and no 120Hz support is available yet, which kinda promised by the developers.

This is a great title for more casual gamers! Pretty straightforward as far as gameplay, but there’s still strategy and thinking involved. The graphics are great, good music, and a good story too — I recommend!!

My laptop well exceeds the system requirements so I know that’s causing this. Additionally, I have also read this is a wide spread issue.

Unlike the Steam/PC version, there is no way to make this game full-wide-screen. Simple fix for the developers, impossible for users. :/

Could the developer at least provide a list of game controllers that are actually supported? Seems like there is no MFi support. Both of the controllers I use on the Mac work with every other game I own except this one. With a MFi controller I can click through the title screen with the controller but then as soon as it hits the main menu I only have the option to use keyboard or mouse.

I am updating my initial review as one of the issues that I had with it no longer occurs. The issue was with game crashing when I disconnected my external monitor but it turned out to be an issue with audio driver. After uninstalling another app that controls audio everything works now. However I still have a serious issue with default keyboard controls for the game. I am forced to use a keyboard reaper tool just to play it comfortably. Besides that the game is actually pretty interesting and engaging.

Bought this to continue playing when away from my PC via the Ubisoft Connect cloud saves, but on PC I have all the DLC and that prevents me from loading that save on macOS… we need the DLC in order for us to fully enjoy the game, please bring it to the App Store release. Other than that, the game runs/looks great and I’m glad Ubisoft is releasing games on macOS, but timely updates and consistent versions across all platforms is essential

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is absolutely amazing! The visuals are stunning, and the story completely blew me away—it’s everything I hoped for and more. I’m especially thankful they brought it to the Mac, making it accessible to even more players. An incredible experience from start to finish!

I'll start with my Macbook Air M2 which has 16GB/1TB and the game runs flawless on it. My controller is a PS5 Dualsense and it works perfectly as well. Set a side some time a side Chuck and have patience because this game has some real head scratchers...in a good way. I would reccommend watching a few youtube vids to guide you and tell you what to do and what not to do. I'll finish with this is a great platformer with good graphics and all for $20 bones. I'm pretty happy with it.

This is a GREAT game and one I would highly recommend. However, in its current state I would recommend waiting or purchasing it on another platform. The Mac App Store version not only lacks the DLC and has a 60fps cap (seemingly with some form of vsync enable which results in stutters), neither issue of which is too big of a deal, but also has some very bizarre bugs. I am currently unable to finish the game, as when I select “Retry” after dying to the final boss, upon my subsequent attempt, the boss locks up between phases (after destroying the orb, the boss freezes mid animation and then vanishes leaving only a hatbox) leaving me forced to jump around the arena aimlessly or just exit to the main menu and try again. Considering there is a sequence of cutscenes and some platforming to get here, and there are four phases, this is extremely frustrating. These kinds of bugs on the critical path of the game should not still be present at full price. You can buy it on discount elsewhere. Which is a pity, because this is a game worth its full price otherwise.
