Runs fairly well on the MB Air M3. Played for quite a while and it kept a steady framerate at medium settings.

Has support for HDR. Has support for haptic feedback on an Xbox Series controller. At a 1440p resolution this game will easily hold 60 frames without dropping on a M2 Pro chip. Which proves to me that my Mac Mini has the same or better graphical performance as a PS5 or Xbox Series X. So long as the game is ported correctly. Amazing. Love this game. Super fun. Super customizable. Pretty graphics. If you like fun, Simcadish racing games, buy this.

It's a good game and it runs well on Apple silicon, I appreciate the port but it is a bit frustrating that the multiplayer is missing. Please add it (Make it Cross Platform). What is preventing you from doing so?

The GRID experience is great on my M1 Mac Studio and a perfect way to end my day! Graphics, audio, and controller support are awesome.

I'm an old fart so I've been a fan of CodeMaster's racing games since TOCA. You'll know what to exepct if you have any past experiance with their GRID series. Some people may whine about the single player-only aspect of the game, but as a casual player it's not an issue. At this moment it's probably the best Mac racing game today that sits in the "fun zone" between arcade racer and racing sim. Production values are high- which is what you'd expect for from a major developer like EA/CodeMasters. If you have any competency in racing sims you'll probably find the stock difficulty level very tame. But it's a lot of fun, especially for $40. Especially when you consider the dismal amount of other competent racing games for AS Macs. (Most of the other ones I've tried are all arcade racers.) I run it on a Mac Mini M1. For this machine the frame rate is acceptable as long as you don't try anything beyond 2560x1440... (I personally stay at 1920x1080).
  • Go With Gear Club Stradale Instead

I was so excited to try such a prolific title as Grid, and finally on Mac! Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Running on an M1 Mac with 8 GPU and 8 CPU cores, it is chunky and the graphics in general look like a ten year old iPad or iPhone game with no depth to them... Like so bad, it makes me dizzy! Maybe an M2/M3 Pro or Ultra would look better, but I don't think it would give the graphics any more depth, it would just make them higher resolution and smoother. For better graphics on Macs, I would go with Gear Club Stradale on Apple Arcade instead. It runs smoothly, has better graphical depth, and is a much better gaming experience all around. Also, I am a long time Forza fan so I can't help comparing Grid to Forza. Yes, I know Grid is half the price of Forza, but to me, the extra price of Forza is well worth it if you have access to a PC or XBox. So in conclusion, maybe if you have M2/M3 Mac it would be a solid experience, but if not, I would skip this one or go with the $4.99 per month Apple Arcade option of Gear Club Stradale.
