Description

Welcome to Rapture. Before you buy, expand this description to check the system requirements below. Rapture… a city where opportunity awaits those brave enough to grasp it. A city where the artist need not fear the censor. Where the scientist is not bound by petty morality. Where the great are not held back by the weak. Set in an alternative 1960, BioShock places you in an individualistic utopia gone badly wrong. Specs : M3 8GB MacBook Pro First of all Great !!!! game but i wrote this review to help those like me suffering with stuttering on a rig that should run it with no problem. Turn On MultiThreading!!!!!!!! stop my stutter A Quick update to add this to the options or turn on by default would help others avoid this...now on to the FIX Navigate to applications folder Right-Click BioShock and show pkg contents Open Contents Folder Open Resources Folder Open Data Folder Open build Folder Open final Folder Open default.ini with textedit Scroll all the way to the bottom locate and change multithread option to true...dont erase semicolon by mistake Will have to make a duplicate to save...save it to your desktop and name it default.ini Once saved to desktop...drag it into "final" folder...Start Game and Enjoy...i know i did.
  • Won't launch on low power mode, no controller support

Rather than update the game to add DualShock and Xbox Series controller support, they make you email them begging for a file that you then have to surgically place into the game directory. Also, if you try to launch the game with Low Power Mode enabled, you just get a black screen and then have to go on a Goolag adventure. Great...
  • Xbox Controller Unable to Connect

I've spent at least an hour scouring the internet trying to figure out how to connect my Xbox controller with this game. I've tried both wired and wireless connections, but neither have worked. I'm not going to play this game without a controller, so it has become dead weight and a waste of money. Maybe there is a way to fix this, but I've tried multiple options.

What a fantastic game. As others have remarked, I don't think the makers really understood objectivism – if they had, I would have given five stars – but otherwise this game is very fun to play. Download it!

I've been a long-standing fan of the Bioshock series. The original Bioshock will be remembered as one of the greatest first-person shooters. The remastered version is a very nice update to an already incredible game. It is pretty amazing that it plays and performs so well on my iMac. The game looks great in 4K and to my surprise, it maintains a solid 60 FPS. The game can also run in 5K, however the frame-rate seems to dip slightly. It is still quite playable though at that resolution. Overall, I am impressed with this release and I highly recommend it! My System Settings: iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) macOS Big Sur (Version 11.2) 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 1 TB SSD 40 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM Radeon Pro 570 4 GB VRAM
  • PS4 Wireless controller issue

As others have stated, i too have had similar problems with th ps4 controlller. I navigate through the menue with ease but when i start to play the campaign, the game cannot register my players correct movements. When i try to walk forward he moves back instead. Not sure what the issue could be. I have Bioshock 2 and that game works fine with the remote. Not sure why this version is having issues. I love bioshock :/

First thing first, IM A HUGE FAN OF THE BIOSHOCK GAMES. But it saddens me to such a great game being held back by what seems to be only a minor and quite annoying controller issue. This game is best played on controller (in my opinion) and when i try to navigate through this game, i find myself at trouble because the game wont allow it on my Playstation4 remote. I try to move forward only for it to take me backwards. Now ive tried to tweak my setting and go solution searching but it hasnt gotten me anywhere. Developers PLEASE fix this. Id have so much more fun if this werent an issue, otherwise this is a great game. Please get back to me... i neeed answers.
  • No PS4 Controller Support

I bought this game months ago when I first got my MacBook Pro 2017. I was extremely excited to play this game. I’m accustomed to console and I prefer using a controller over anything else, but the game either doesn’t recognize any input, or sometimes the controller will semi work; by that I mean it will have inverted controlls, not let you walk in a straight line, and there’s nothing you can do to change it. I contacted support and they said it has something to do with the way new Macs recieve bluetooth connections. They said connecting it through a USB should fix the problem, but you know how that is with Apple (I’m throwing shade.) I haven’t gotten an adaptor because I can’t afford one, but that’s irrelvant because Feral Interactive Support said themselves in an email that the bluetooth should work fine without a USB connection. Honestly how/why would you put a game out and have it say full conrtoller support, when it clearly doesn’t. Three months later after playing other lame games on STEAM I email support asking them what’s going on, as they said they’d look into the issue and keep me updated. Here I am and I’ve yet to get a response for a week now. I guess they forgot about me. Shameful. The game itself is smooth, atmospheric, and fun to play; Only thing is I can’t play it with the laptop pad and buttons. I literally can’t get past a part with what I have. I made it pretty far far with this, interesting way to play, but I need a controller. Very disappointed. And if it works fine on STEAM with Big Picture (honestly probably should’ve bought it through there) I would love a refund or free Bioshock through there where it might work. Until then, I wish I could give this 0 stars.

The game will not allow my character to move forwards when using my PS4 controller despite me being able to effieciently navigate the menus with the controller. I’ve tried a few things to resolve this issue although nothing has worked
