Your inbox, your rules. • Rigorous encryption — Your entire inbox is secured, on all your devices. No one can read your emails but you. Industry Leading Security Features Messages are stored on Proton Mail servers using end-to-end encryption at all times and are transmitted securely between Proton servers and user devices. This largely eliminates the risk of message interception. Zero Access to Your Email Content Proton Mail's zero access architecture means that your data is encrypted in a way that makes it inaccessible to us. Data is encrypted on the client side using an encryption key that Proton does not have access to. This means we don't have the technical ability to decrypt your messages. Open-Source Cryptography Proton Mail's open-source software has been thoroughly vetted by security experts from around the world to ensure the highest levels of protection. Proton Mail only uses secure implementations of AES, RSA, along with OpenPGP, while all of the cryptographic libraries used are open source. By using open-source libraries, Proton Mail can guarantee that the encryption algorithms used do not have clandestinely built-in back doors. Proton Mail in the press: “Proton Mail is a Gmail-like email system which uses end-to-end encryption, making it impossible for outside parties to monitor.” Forbes “A new email service being developed by a group who met at MIT and CERN promises to bring secure, encrypted email to the masses and keep sensitive information away from prying eyes.” Huffington Post Follow Proton on social media for all the latest news and offers: Facebook: /proton Twitter: @protonprivacy Reddit: /protonmail Instagram: /protonprivacy For more information, visit: https://proton.me/mail Our open-source code base: https://github.com/ProtonMail EULA: http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/appstore/dev/stdeula

Key word search is not working and I need that. I have a lot of purchased items saved and I want to see how the price has changed using search in simple terms its not bringing up any results when I know I have sales records saved in my inbox.

I kept looking for an email service that is just an email service encrypted. I looked into this before and it was too expensive. Then within the last time I looked and now it changed to have consumer level availability. So I tried the free trial and it attempt to sync to my google account which would have defeated the purpose. I tried using it with gaming services and the domain is rejected same for certain not all online shop, services and social media. Then I read all the updates to terms where it logs certain information and sends the logs as well as the new way it works with law enforcement. It works as advertised expect one thing the logging. Every-time I access the app on my WiFi it is followed by targeted advertisement bombardment from google. On my iPhone it is a slew of Robo calls. The email itself keeps ending up in most junk mail folders but the choose my name part is my favorite part. The app on my iPad is always changing settings while on my iPhone and android phone it is fine. The app does have a biometric issue every iOS update I have to re-log in and recently it crashes more and more and my analytic data apple logs is flagging it as a violation of some sort. I’m sure it will be fixed in time but if you plan to get this app don’t use a google account email and pay for the basic plan. The free one is like old Gmail you get an email but a whole lot of advertisement. Hopefully that gets fixed so far my only complaint is the domain name being unusable with certain services and using it over WiFi. As for the last criticism iPad OS 18 hates it I had to remove it from my iPad. Apple insists you use you their hide my email service so if you need a private email that is private this is a good choice. I normally wouldn’t review an app but this has worked and the free tier plan is beginning to defeat the purpose of getting it. So if you really want privacy and to use this buy a plan. Enjoy

…….you will need to keep your app updated so your app works properly without freezing my system. My system is kept updated so everybody’s apps work properly. This pisses me off to no end..why would I be foolish enough to support you when your app doesn’t work properly, I can get this behavior as a non paid subscriber, as I am right now. The ball is in your court, Captain.

To protect my privacy and information I switched to protonmail. It was the best decision I ever had. I removed Gmail from my phone and uses DuckDuckGo for search engine. I feel at peace. Companies that supports data protection is a blessing . Thanks be to God! And Thanks to the people who created Protonmail.

UPDATE: The developer responded with misinformation about still being able to manage your subscription using Apple subscriptions. When I go into the Apple application, it clearly states under my account “cannot manage subscription through the app” which is exactly what I’m talking about. Clearly the people responding to the reviews Have no idea what the product is or what’s working and what’s not. Old Review: When I first got this product, there was a free version that I could try. It was great. I appreciate everything they’re trying to do. I loved it so much that I signed up for the paid yearly subscription. I have paid twice for this yearly renewal.I don’t like the fact that you lose access to your information between subscriptions. I understand if they won’t let you send data, but you should at least be able to see things you need in your folder whether you have purchased or not. My other big beef is that you can no longer pay for your subscription through Apple. They sneakily removed it as an option to pay with your Apple subscription. I have a feeling it’s because they don’t want Apple taking a cut of their profit, but this is a huge inconvenience for a customer. They should reinstitute the ability to pay for your subscription via your Apple subscription services.
  • No customer support but to erase your content

I’ve used the service over two years and yet I cannot get a hold of anyone to figure out how to reset a password without erasing all of my content over the past two years, which is absurd. No phone number so you can’t talk to a live person. I’ve tried their endless FAQ page and nowhere can you even send an email to inquire to get help. This is a terrible service.
  • App is absolutely unusable.

For years, the app worked fine but as time went on it began freezing up. Today, the app freezes on every use. This has been an ongoing issue for most of the last year or even longer. I am using iPhone 7 plus with iOS version 15.8.3. Deleting and reinstalling ProtonMail makes no difference. The mean time between app freezes only gets shorter with every attempt. The developer replied to my last negative review suggesting to toggle the app setting to do a full reset upon launch. So I deleted and re-downloaded the app and set the toggle. Then I logged in. I started to compose a new email and the app froze before completing the first sentence. I am absolutely finished with Protonmail.

There is bridge for Mac that allows you to use protonmail with default mail app. But for iPhone, there is no such feature. I love proton mail but I might have to switch if they don’t fix this issue
