  • No passkey support!

This extension doesn’t support passkeys. The Proton Pass for other browsers does. This is a huge oversight. Some communication on when this will be addressed would be really helpful. The silence is deafening, it’s been a missing feature since launch.

This app keeps freezing Safari. Developers need to figure it out and fix this!!!
  • Nice job, but..

Haven't used it much yet, since so new. but so far seems very stable and responsive. It now has the biometric option on the desktop app but still waiting for the browser extension to get it. it now supports keys somewhat, but I think is not just the fault of the extension but Apple’s imposed limitations. Overall, I like it so far. has room for improvement and hopefully it won't take long. Updating review to lower stars to 2. This thing is completely separate from the app and keeps on locking itself up, even do actively using the app. Going back and fwd, updating logins. And the 6 PIN can get really annoying, specially after getting spoiled by 1Password. And why has it bee so difficult to add a light theme, is it really that hard to code in a different color?

Very nice service tons of features and wonderful ecosystem. Love the UI and how smooth it is. Autofill is mostly ok, not as good as others but cromulent. There is no biometric auth only pin, this is far behind other vendors. This also freezes my browser regularly. It took a while to figure out but as soon as I disabled it, my browser stopped freezing. This is close to being excellent, not quite there yet.

I’m a longtime 1Password user and I’d like to switch because I have Proton Unlimited. I tried ProtonPass about a year ago and thought it wasn’t quite there. I’ve been trying it again on Mac and iOS. About a month in, it’s working beautifully. Browser extensions (Safari and Brave) fill info smoothly, and the app is easy to use. A few small app improvements might be nice, such as getting it to stay sorted by alpha and adding a few more categories, but I think those will come in time. It’s excellent. Highly recommend!
  • So much to be desired

Having used 1Password for all these years it is hard to use something else, but being a subscriber, unintentionally at first, I gave this one a try. I find myself always reverting back to 1password because this one can’t get it right…

Proton Pass has progressed through development pretty rapidly in the past year; with the addition of vault sharing and identities and a Safari extension it has now replaced my previous password manager after over a decade of use. Started to change direction and Proton seems to be responding to the user base. Passkeys work well. Will be glad to see biometic authentication be a little smoother and available in browser extensions (Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
  • No Auto Log-In

Great app for the phone, but the safari extension is less than ideal. There is no auto log in feature so I have to re-sign in my long, hand typed passcode every time I start safari.
  • Lacks security

I would love to give this a five star rating, because this is a company that works hard to create good products that don't sell the user's data, but unfortunately Proton Pass on Mac missed the mark. You cannot make a password manager app that just lets you access everything without entering your master password, instead of implementing Touch ID, which is the obvious solution, the app only offers either no locking method at all, or a simple PIN. This is very insecure, and this is THE kind of app that should be very secure.
  • Buggy and does not work at times

I'm beginning to wonder if I made the right decision signing up for their premium service because their products don't seem to work as intended and in the case of this browser extension I often have to restart the extension because it fails to load or doesn't present the sign-in screen.
