  • Lacks basic functional features

Features that are missing that are deal breakers for me. The ability to copy and paste an event. Every day events like work has to started from scratch which is so time consuming. And you can’t pinch the week view so you can the all the hours in a day. No section for templates. The lack of these features make this app useless and it is far behind

Fix this it is painfully slow to open anything! Minutes!!!

I used this for a few weeks and it is indeed very buggy. Some suggestions: allow smooth scrolling month to month. Allow syncing with popular calendars. Make it smoother/easier to enter dates. When you download the computer app it requires a subscription… another frustration is it requires internet or it is not accessible. Going back to using the old 2003 outlook. At least it is local and i own it.
  • I lose minutes every day waiting for this app to save changes

Saving after deleting an item or changing the start time is agonizingly slow. I get a spinning icon for at least five seconds, then when it finally goes back to the day display, it takes at least another five seconds for the item to disappear or move. I really have better things to do with my time. Also, sometimes items that I have deleted show back up on certain days, and cannot be re-deleted in the app. I have to go into the desktop app to delete them again.
  • Needs to work on iPad with sidebar

I only use an iPad Pro with a Magic Keyboard, and seeing Proton Calendar only in “partial screen” mode in iPhone orientation just doesn’t work well for me. I thought most big devs make their apps universal now? Embarrassingly, only other app that still hasn’t motorized for iPad screen is a log in app for medical personnel; calendar shouldn’t be lumped in with lazy devs like this. Other services overall work but man, at least give Proton Calendar a dark mode icon, please. Ratings will change once iPad compatibility and dark mode compatible icon is provided.
  • Missing Search Function?

The basic calendar features are fine, but where is the Search function to find events?
  • Ok calendar app

Generally an ok calendar, but does not enable two-way integration with non-proton accounts, making it unusable as a multi-account calendar client. There has to be a way to maintain the security of the proton calendar with 2-way integration of non-protón calendars. Also, no way to add to-do list items to the calendar the way Google calendar does. I use this feature extensively. Please add some sort of to-do list!

I really like the design and functionality of this calendar. EDIT: I reviewed saying I had some issues with loading speed (see below) and they responded promptly with a solution that worked. I really appreciate the personal touch. It is still a bit slow to update the Google Calendar changes I have synched but overall really happy with the product. — Original review: It’s a shame that it takes up to two minutes for it to load on mobile with good Wi-Fi. The widget is slow to update as well. Not sure if this is because more people have been switching over recently, but I hope it gets better.
  • Won’t Sync

I simply cannot get this to sync with my Google calendar. It’s basically useless to me without that.
  • Not native to iPad

I use every other proton app and want to use proton calendar but with it not running natively on iPad, it’s hard to give this anything more than 2 stars
