  • iphone 15 gps accuracy

I have been using iPhone since iPhone 3, I bought 15 a month ago, there is a significant performance loss in GPS accuracy, I compare it side by side with iPhone 7 and 15 while accuracy is around 3-8m on 7, it goes up to 20m on 15, has there been a study on this? Could there be an incompatibility? Because Apple customer service made a ridiculous statement stating that they cannot do anything when used with 3rd party programs😔

This app has been my go to for years and years. Since I’ve noticed it changed names to Garmin on my phone the app will not open. I tap on it and it comes up for about 1 sec and closes. I spend good money on this app and it will not work. Zero stars for this review. Waste of money. When I needed it this past weekend it let me down.

I think your users understand that you update your maps daily. It does not matter to those who do not want to pay a premium for you to update waters they will never visit. Understand many users already have purchased detailed localized lake maps on their sonar. We paid a one time price for the region we fish. Paying $50 per year to have the ability to view lakes on my phone is not a good decision and paying a premium to have daily updates to waters or features I do not need is not a selling point. I suggest you offer smaller localized and affordable versions of your product for half the price and watch your purchases increase as well as your rating.

I have a new boat I intend to take on longer trips. Looking for a good app but this thing won’t let you even look at the app without a trial subscription. Really annoying. I’m happy to pay if it’s a good app and my favorite of the navigation apps but at least show me the interface before forcing me to subscribe, even to a trial.

It has been closed. And it will remain closed for some time. Very widespread news, yet you direct me through this passage when all I need is a simple distance calculation. I can do it on my own, but at this point what am I paying for? The app was better before garmin took over..

App won’t even open or function properly anymore. Login and it just sits on spinning circle doing nothing. Absolute waste of money.

This app was good. Charts were nice and accurate. I purchased the app when it first came out for like 10 dollars. Since they have been on the subscription kick they removed all my charting capabilities. Now the map is just blobs of color. Terrible.

September 2024 edit We circumnavigated 2018-2020 using this app for our charts around all the world. We had Navionics on two iPads and an iPhone. I’m sad to see you can only activate on two devices now.. (We really enjoyed having one iPad charging while we used the other one, and an emergency backup iPhone). This change makes this a worse app.. I suppose we can do the dance of putting one iPad in airplane mode and then activating the other one before leaving port.. but c’mon Garmin.. All the same, thanks for continuing the development of this great app. July 2019 Edit (and warning!): The new import/export features are great. We like creating a route and airdropping it to our different iOS devices while at sea. The new “delete charts” feature has also been long awaited, but the first time we tried it on one of our iPhones, it seemed to get stuck deleting. The next time we opened the app it hung when opening and never opened again. We had to delete the app and reinstall (and we were lucky enough to discover the issue while in port in order to re-download it). I would recommend not updating the app to 14.1 (or at least not deleting charts) if you rely on this app until a future update with some better error checking/bug fixing comes our way. Thank you for the continued development in our favorite charting app! ————————————————— Original review March 2019 Wonderful app! You can’t beat the price and accuracy of the charts. We plan to use this app to circumnavigate over the next two years. East coast of USA, Bahamas, and Panama have all been wonderful and accurate so far. I am able to install the app on backup cellular data iPads in lifeproof cases. We use this app as our chart plotter. One of the bugs we have noticed seems to relate to low internet speed. If the app is launched when the device has *barely* one bar of cellular or WiFi internet connection, the app will hang. Force quitting and relaunching the app does not help, but turning off cell data for the app or disconnecting from WiFi does allow the app to launch. Please build in some error checking for low/unusable internet (example: when sailing out of harbor). Another feature we would like to have would be to delete downloaded maps (we would like to delete the US maps to free up space) -without having to delete and reinstall the app. Overall great app and a 5 star app if the bugs are fixed! Thank you!

Prices are now increasing each year with less coverage. Now only 2 devices included, which means only one backup offshore. Will not renew.
