Now that Connect+ will be required for formerly free features I’m changing my previous review to negative. I just returned the new Fenix I bought due to the Connect+ subscription being required for full functionality. Harmon needs to reverse this money grab before I’ll buy another watch.
  • The new “pay to play” badges ruin fun interactions with my training group

I understand the introduction of a subscription service, even if I disagree with it after having g spent thousands of $$$ of Garmin products, it the included premium badges for basic activity types (such as hiking), with increased point allotment compared to standard badges, breaks that aspect of the fun interaction with my activity buddies.

When I first got my Garmin watch, I would’ve rated the app with five stars. Now after the latest update, the app has ads. They are very annoying ,rethinking my purchase.

I was a proud Garmin owner and would go out of my way to recommend their products. Now, Garmin Connect+ ads bloat the app and the leveling system has been ruined with exclusive badges. Opening the Connect app used to bring joy to my day. Now, it makes me sad. I fear Connect+ will become more intrusive and that more and more features will become locked behind it in the future.

Been using it for 8 years and counting, still love it. It’s like that favorite pair of jeans that fit just right, but they’re stained and ripped. You love it, you know there’s something better, but you just won’t get rid of it. UI stinks, but I know it well now lol.

I bought an $1100 watch. Why are they trying to sell subscriptions?
  • Used to be great

This used to be a great app. Now that they will be locking new features behind a paywall on a device that cost north of $1,200 is a bit ridiculous. This will eventually be the slow, long death of Garmin.

Seems like it always is losing connection with my watch and is very annoying to have to reconnect it almost every time.

Quintessential bloatware. The necessity of this app and associated account to access features of the hardware is impractical at best.
