  • Can’t verify phone number

    Can’t get past the verify phone number screen. Keep getting error “the phone number provided is blocked for verification.”

    App just keeps giving me the message “phone number is blocked for verification.” Have tried the troubleshooting tips in the help forums and none have worked. Seems other users are frustrated too and the support team just keeps linking the same troubleshooting article.

  • Needs better notifications when you have an unread message

    We’ve been using the app to communicate with a family member who is rafting down the Grand Canyon. It’s generally been good, and I like that it allows for group messaging and some emoji reactions to messages. What’s frustrating though is that the notification options are extremely limited—in the app, the only thing you can set is a sound when messages are received. I’m on an iPhone 13, and I have the settings for the app set to allow notifications, with banners and badges. I’m not the kind of person who carries my phone on me everywhere when I’m at home, and I don’t typically check my personal phone when I’m at work. So I rely on badges to know when I have a message. But frequently, the badges don’t seem to work. I’ll check the app out of curiosity, and find I missed a handful of messages despite there being no badges. So that’s not great.

  • Impossible to suspend account

    I love the security the inreach Mini2 provides. I appreciate the route review. But loathe the difficulty in suspending and unsuspending my account. The activity always seems agitating and more of an accident than anything intentional. Almost like Garmin is trying to zap me for the monthly charge, rather than know I’ll come back so long as the equipment functions as I need it to. Come on Garmin do better.

    We are hiking in remote Kauai near Waimea Canyon. It is extremely dangerous to report no rain for 24 hours (0%) when it in fact rained for 14 straight. Garmin said partly cloudy on an updated forecast when we’d literally already been in a downpour for several hours and flash flooding was imminent. I will be returning this dangerous device when we get back home.

    This app requires a subscription, which is fine. I canceled my subscription and received a confirmation. The very next day they sent an invoice for the remaining balance, which is to be expected. But they only sent that one invoice. And then sent the $46 to collections. I must have forgotten to pay the remaining balance but any other company would have sent another payment reminder. So beware as Garmin is pretty ruthless when it comes to a balance due.

  • Not working in Kuwait

    The app doesn’t work in Kuwait! I’m unable to receive the verification code. I contacted the Garmin reseller in Kuwait, and they informed me that the service hasn’t been working in the country for the past six months
