Description

Reeder is your all-in-one inbox for reading, watching and listening to content from various sources. From Unread Counts to Timeline Syncing Say goodbye to unread counts! With Reeder, your timeline position is synced across all your devices, letting you pick up right where you left off. Shared Feeds Turn any tag into a public, auto-updating feed that can be viewed in any browser or added to any RSS reader that supports JSON feeds, making it simple to share your curated content. Unified Timeline Reeder supports more than just RSS feeds. It integrates videos, podcasts and social media posts into a single, streamlined view. While it’s not meant to replace full-featured clients, Reeder offers a centralized way to keep track of everything you follow, with the option to open content in other apps (if supported) when you want to dive deeper. Save and Organize Links Easily save links from Safari or any other app to Reeder using its share extension, keeping everything organized and easy to find. iCloud Sync Reeder only syncs what’s important — your subscriptions, timeline position and tagged items (including Links, Favorites, Bookmarks and Later) — across all your devices using iCloud, making syncing faster and more efficient, with changes pushed to your other devices within seconds. Content is fetched directly from the sources, ensuring you always have the latest updates. Terms of Use: https://reeder.app/terms Privacy Policy: https://reeder.app/privacy

  • Exactly what I wanted

This is exactly what I wanted in an RSS reader. I used Reeder5/Classic for a long time but like this better.
  • Visually appealing but that’s it

The new Reeder app looks nice but misses the functionality of previous versions. As others have pointed out, why get rid of unread counts in favor of continuous scrolling, there are no visual cues as to what has been read making it difficult to figure out where you are in the “timeline”, and the pull past feature has been removed (probably because it means marking an article as read). I really don’t understand the logic behind this new version. I’ve gone all in on Silvio’s apps in the past, I think it’s now time to step away and look to other developers.
  • Exactly what I needed

First of all this new version is beautiful. But second, having a ‘dashboard’ where I can view the content most important to me has been amazing.
  • Who is this for?

As a longtime supporter since Reeder 1, this new app is baffling. Reeder in name only, you no longer see new items from your feeds and mark them read as you work through the lists - the core function of how Reeder worked for 15 years. Now each feed is an amorphous blob, for casual consumption. No way to see where you left off, no way to see what’s new, just an ocean of posts from sources you add. For keeping up with what’s happening, it’s useless. I don’t know who this app is for now. They could add in the old functionality on top of the new UI - that’d be very welcome. I’ll check back in a year or two and see if that’s the case. Was initially happy to pay a subscription to my favorite app, but am now left supremely disappointed by what was delivered.

Yea, it’s a departure from the Reeder but there’s a lot to love so far. Would love a “lifetime” sub option. Let me give you $50 or so to avoid subscription fatigue.
  • Reeder, Half-Fed

I suspect there’s going to be many critical reviews besides by own. Because the Reeder name was kept we probably expect it to have new features and refinements built upon the established Reeder Classic. However, this feels like a half-baked version. It’s missing all the features I relied on for years. This should’ve been rebranded into a new product called, “Feader”. ** Dec 11, 2024 ** Here’s a novel idea – “Hide items after they’ve been read (pressed on).” It’s been around in Reeder Classic since… forever. I can’t use this app otherwise.
  • I love it!

As a long time Reeder classic user, this new Reeder app didn’t click for me when I first used it. I gave it a second chance and now I’m all in. I just subscribed and look forward to future updates. PLEASE allow this app to be used on the Vision Pro as well 🙏
  • Great App, Needs PDS Support

I love the app and all that it offers. The one thing it is missing for me is support for custom Bluesky Personal Data Servers. It currently only supports bsky.app. Let us enter our own domain!
  • Evolutionary improvement!

Love the original app, loving the new one even more. The combined home feed of everything with no read counts is really working for me.
  • It’s Good! Make the leap and move on from Classic

I delayed trying this because I am a massive Reeder classic user. But now that I have, I can reassure all of those coming from Classic that this is a great app. It still needs some minor refinements, and there is a getting used to it, but I am really enjoying the new version and experience without the unread counts, replaced by the saved scroll position. Despite what you read in early reviews about scroll positions not working or syncing well, I can confirm it works seamlessly now between Mac, iPad , and iPhone. My only request and the reason for four stars is that it lacks a iPhone widget. I am used to seeing a feed of news stories on widgets on my phone now and have gone so far as to remove application icons from my home screen in favor of widgets. I am not seeing widgets for this new version of Reeder at this time unless I am missing something. Definite five stars when it adds widgets.
