I have loved and used Bible Gateway for years. The Bible doesn't have pop ups. So, sadly, bye.

I’ve been going back and forth with this app for years. I really wish I had not bought into this app with notes and highlights. It has been buggy since the beginning. They would do a fix, and then it would happen again. Usually, what happens, is that it simply wont launch. Today for example, I just get the progress wheel without any progress. What I usually do is use another app and wait for an update. Months later I come back and it works, weeks later it won’t launch again. This cycle has repeated itself at least 5 times. I won’t give them my money to try to avoid the issues with the free version because they are just too incompetent to deserve it especially because even when it does launch, you still have to navigate all the other inherent bugs that still exist to this day, and there are many.
  • Ads Make it Miserable

There is no way to stop the long, loud ads. You are literally captive to the ads. The answer from bible gateway was to pay or get used to the most intrusive ads I’ve ever seen. The ads are over the top and could be shortened or a “skip” button could be added, but they refuse.

Unfortunately a bot responded to it and did not take their recommendation seriously. What they said was eloquent and relevant. If an account developer had read it and responded I would have tremendous respect for these creators. As it stands I now believe they do not care about the people experiencing their platform. Take care, it was a shame to see you ignore such a heartfelt expression…

I have to keep uninstalling my he app and reinstalling due to it freezing after one use. When I open it the next day the screen stays white and loading. I pay a subscription and use this app very much for Bible study’s. I wish that problem could be fixed
  • Ads volume

I’ve enjoyed this app for years and would rate it 5 stars but after the last update the ads come with the volume on instead of muted. Ads are a necessary annoyance but I really hate this. Looking for a new app

Ads every time you open the app, but rather than just being able to sit through them, they don’t go away until you click the ad and get directed to another page, then you have to go back to read the Bible
  • Lovely Resource But Ads

Bible Gateway has been my go to Bible app for as long as I can remember. I have recommended it to friends and strangers. My favorite feature is the audio Bible offered in various translations with great narrators. I am so thankful to be able to listen to the Word while driving or doing anything. The only draw back is the ads. I understand it’s a small price to pay to avoid actually paying, but some ads are just not appropriate for a Bible app. It’s frustrating to be tempted while in the Bible app to covet something that you don’t have 😏🙄 thankfully there’s an option to skip after a few seconds so don’t let that stop or distract you from contentedly digging into the Word and enjoying rich time with God through it. If the ads may be a problem for you, I would highly recommend considering a subscription. Thank you Bible Gateway. God bless.
