I would say it’s a decent app and I hope it keeps getting updates to make it better. I use mostly for climbing and it’s a lot easier to use than mountain project.

OK- I’m done. This is simply the most intuitive and feature-balanced mapping software out there, as far as I can tell. Reasonable subscription cost with remarkable visualization of complex terrain for any kind of mountain or backcountry travel. Phenomenal work from the team @ OnX

Mountain biking in Moab and I was unable to view my saved route without a network connection. What kind of app with “backcountry” in the title requires an internet connection to function? Carry a paper map, don’t rely on this app. Also some of the old MTB Project trail descriptions are awfully written and inaccurate, possibly dangerously so for a beginner who relies on them for trail difficulty ratings.

It’s a good app, but my Garmin inReach app already does basically the same. I wish they allowed you to download the entire state in high quality. It lets you do 25 miles max at a time and it’s just not anymore useful than Garmin for my needs. Those that have high storage limit Apple devices should be allowed to download more. Yes you can make your own path but that’s pretty much it. I deleted it.

Great app for those going off grid and getting around trails.
  • Confusing

I find this app to be extremely challenging to use. Nothing makes sense. I can’t remove a previous mountain bike trail from showing on the map. I can’t find how to add a new hiking map. As I try to scroll a map will load but I just want to scroll further down the page. I’m new to the app and I’m sure a lot of this is user error but I’m a tech savvy person and i can’t figure this thing out.

The app does not provide the 3-D view advertised on FB, and I am unable to cancel membership renewal.

The typical click click put in your e-mail so we can sell it to a company. Then we hit you with the price. APPLE MAPS DOES THE SAME THING PEOPLE!

Still trying to get the hang of it. Here due to the fact I couldn’t actually find a general feedback in the app. Looks like a decent app. I know there probably is not an app that has all trails nearby. Features they could add to help a user? Well the trail I went to today? I guess they call it point to point. My problem? I went to the campground trail head. Of course the app doesn’t recognize a trail head there. They show the trail, starting from the opposite side of the mountain! If they don’t want to add the trailhead they could add a reverse trail button? Another issue is: where is the “back” button while browsing trails? I’m finding it hard to view nearby trails then going back to the list. Not sure why but it seems more sensitive to “touch” than any of my other apps. I keep opening trails accidentally while trying to scroll. Then having to find my way back to the list. Again. New to app, maybe I’m just missing something.
