Get things done! The award-winning Things app helps you plan your day, manage your projects, and make real progress toward your goals. Best of all, it’s easy to use. Within the hour, you’ll have everything off your mind and neatly organized—from routine tasks to your biggest life goals—and you can start focusing on what matters today. “Things offers the best combination of design and functionality of any app we tested, with nearly all the features of other power user applications and a delightful interface that never gets in the way of your work.” —Wirecutter, The New York Times KEY FEATURES • Your To-Dos Your basic building block is the almighty To-Do—each a small step toward a great accomplishment. You can add notes, tag it, schedule it, and break it down into smaller steps. • Your Projects Create a Project for any big goal, then add the to-dos to reach it. Use headings to structure your list as you outline your plan. There’s also a place to jot down your notes, and a deadline to keep you on schedule. • Your Areas Create an Area for each sphere of your life, such as Work, Family, Finance, and so on. This keeps everything neatly organized, and helps you see the big picture as you set your plans in motion. • Your Plan Everything on your schedule is neatly laid out in the Today and Upcoming lists, which show your to-dos and calendar events. Each morning, see what you planned for Today and decide what you want to do. The rest is down to you :) MORE THINGS TO LOVE As you dive deeper, you’ll find Things packed with helpful features. Here are just a few: • Reminders — set a time and Things will remind you. • Repeaters — automatically repeat to-dos on a schedule you set. • This Evening — a special place for your evening plans. • Calendar integration — see your events and to-dos together. • Tags — categorize your to-dos and quickly filter lists. • Quick Find — instantly find to-dos or switch between lists. • Magic Plus — drag the + button to insert to-dos anywhere in a list. • Share extension — create to-dos with content from other apps. • Widgets — see lists on your home/lock screens. • Mail to Things — forward an email to Things; now it’s a to-do. • Markdown — structure & style your notes. • And much more! MADE FOR IPHONE Things is tailored to the iPhone with deep system integrations as well. A great example is the Share extension, which allows you to create to-dos with content from other apps, such as a link to a website you want to get back to. You can also enjoy a beautiful dark mode at sunset, connect your calendars, add a variety of widgets, create to-dos via Siri, import from Reminders—Things can do it all! There’s even Shortcuts integration if you want to automate your workflows. MADE FOR APPLE WATCH Things comes with a great app for Apple Watch. Just raise your wrist to glance at your Today list, mark to-dos complete as you go, and dictate new ones on the fly—all synced instantly with your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. AWARD-WINNING DESIGN Made in Stuttgart, with two Apple Design Awards to its name, Things is a fine example of German engineering: designed not only to look fantastic, but to be perfectly functional as well. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, then polished to perfection. “It’s like the unicorn of productivity tools: deep enough for serious work, surprisingly easy to use, and gorgeous enough to enjoy staring at.” —Apple GET THINGS TODAY Whatever it is you want to accomplish in life, Things can help you get there. I love the flow of the app. It feels really good to use and I like that it isn’t overflowing with complication. One thing that I would love, which may seem a little redundant, would be to have tasks able to be locked until other specific tasks are marked off. Kind of like the checklist feature, except if it could be with other tasks from anywhere. Like having a “Long Term Goals” Area with something like “Get a job in so and so career”, but it couldn’t be marked off until you marked off “Graduate” under the “School” Area. Sure you can do that without a feature like this, and you can pretty much do that with individual Projects, but it would be cool to see that work across all your Areas and Projects, leading up to one big goal. It would be like different paths are unlocking, and I think it would be distinct enough to act different than Projects themselves. Another example would be a Project to finish reading a book, with Tasks being “Finish chapter one”, “Finish chapter two”, etc. Finishing the book would be the goal of the Project, but what if there was a “Start a book club” Project or Task that only unlocked once you marked off finishing chapter one? I think that would be exciting to open and unlock things like that.

I’m a paper & pen type of person, & till this day will always use it, however time is a big component to a to do list & using a digital version would allow more flexibility, wasting less time correcting, & much more, that’s why I’m willing to give an honest review, the app; - it’s simple & effective - clean UI/UX - Affordable (NO MONTHLY-SUBSCRIPTION NEEDED) - Cross compatible - Modern & Aesthetic - A Huge Time Saver The app is worth it honestly if you value your time & money, there’s other options out there with extra functionalities but each to their own needs, right now it’s good the way that it is & if the developers add additional features that’s a plus. Message to the devs: I think that the cloud option should be taken off, as this could take a toll on the company eventually since the bandwidth & storage could be endless, & I really would like for the company to keep up & be here for the long run, or offer a cloud storage service to those who really need it to be honest.

There are a ton better options out there for a task manager. Things 3 is so simple, it hurts. And some really weird omissions that are mind boggling like no color coding. Not to mention repeating tasks are a cluster.

Unless you log into the app everyday there isn’t much use to it I like to publish my tasks to my calendar and get reminded about events and such
  • The Holy Grail

I want to write a more extensive review on this but coming from someone who has literally tried ticktick todoist, notion, craft, Superlist, anydo, time tree, and many others I won’t name; this app is the holy grail. I know some of you out there may be concerned about the price and paying for the app multiple times but it’s definitely worth it if you’re like me and you have spent thousands of dollars already paying monthly subscriptions or getting weaseled into them. This app is simple. I’ll have a bunch of distractions with statistics and does not have the headache of interconnecting with Other users. That may seem like a downside, but unless you an intuitive business, the people such as your spouse that you try to connect with likely are as productive as you and what you and won’t utilize it anyways. I have to say more about this, but I gotta go for now but trust me it’s the holy Grail!

I rarely write reviews, but wanted to say thank you to the folks who developed this app, enabling me to abandon iOS Reminders app, My giant 300 item to do list with zero organization, and it’s never ending slew of notifications that would become so overwhelming that I would just ignore them, but every morning it would remind me that I had hundreds of things to do, confirming that I sucked at life. PARAGRAPH - THINGS three is designed with efficiency and genius at almost every turn. While I may desire a couple of improvements, I have found in fully migrating to and using the app, why the developers designed things the way they did in most cases. for example, maximum one hour snooze time seemed silly to me, when I was so used to snoozing for one day on Reminders, but this actually prompts me to change the date of the thing (and to file the thing in its appropriate area, project, etc.) PARAGRAPH Or the inbox, made no sense to me at first, as it seemed like an extra today page, but it’s actually a genius solution to default throw things in until I have the time to file the thing (which is so easy and enjoyable to do). i’m not worried about missing anything now. PARAGRAPH There is one function that I consistently wish was more accessible, and that is moving an item. I wish that that was an icon next to the rest of the icons at the bottom of any Thing, rather than at the bottom of the screen. it chokes my flow every time. PARAGRAPH I also wish there was a Deadlines tab (along with today, calendar, someday, anytime…). Using a hashtag to access such an important list is just not robust enough for me to rely on/easy to forget it exists. PARAGRAPH I absolutely love and even enjoy the experience of cleaning up my Today page once a day, not just taking things off the list, but selectively adding things to the list - is a wonderful and simple functionality. The burden of my procrastination no longer feels as such, and I am absolutely more productive, and more calm, because of this app.
