Take part in the epic sequel that unfolds nearly two decades after the events of FINAL FANTASY IV. Classic characters make their return alongside several new heroes, such as Ceodore, son of Cecil and Rosa. - Ten Playable Tales Begin your journey with "Ceodore's Tale." Complete it to unlock the tales of six additional characters, which can be played in any order, and then return to the core story with "Kain's Tale," "The Lunarian's Tale," and "The Crystals." A total of ten tales in all, and all contained in FINAL FANTASY IV: THE AFTER YEARS. - Active Time Battle Take control of exhilarating combat made possible by the non-stop action in Square Enix's iconic battle system. - Lunar Phases Feel the moon's presence in combat, as its waxing and waning influences the potency of attacks and abilities of all combatants. Lunar phases cycle naturally with the passage of in-game time, or when resting at an inn, tent, or cottage. - Band Abilities Combine the strength of your party members to awesome effect with Band abilities that can be unlocked through in-game events or by leveling your characters' Affinity. - Minimap Keep an eye on your current location and nearby surroundings, or tap for quick access to the world map. - Game Center Support Step up to meet all-new challenges offered by dozens of achievements. - Widescreen Support Enjoy fullscreen display on iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5c. STORY Seventeen years have passed since the war's end, and the son born to King Cecil and Queen Rosa of Baron has grown into a young man. Prince Ceodore has enlisted in the airship fleet known as the Red Wings, eager to meet the expectations demanded of his blood and station. Yet once more another moon has appeared in the sky, and with it vast hordes of monsters intent on destruction. The brief peace enjoyed by the Blue Planet now stands threatened under the shadow of impending catastrophe.

  • Fun, but a bit too easy

If you’re a Final Fantasy veteran, you’ll probably get through 80 percent of this game on auto battle like I did. This game also makes heavy use of the underground waterway between Kaipo and Damcyan, which gets a little dull. I also could’ve done without the Edward storyline, as he’s still the weakest and therefore most inconsequential character. (His hover car is missing here, and that was the most useful thing about him in the first game!) A character I had been building gets killed off near the end of the game, which forced me to grind to get through. This is an apparently low budget project, as there isn’t much new material here. Still, this game is worth playing if you’re a Final Fantasy fan.

As a longtime admirer of almost all Final Fantasy games this one is a pass. It’s got one interesting factor that a Rydia look-a-like is taking all the crystals. But you hear the same thing in different stories too many times. I lost interest during Parom’s story. You play the past and realise it’s not going anywhere. By now there should never be a replay of the past. Any items and building of characters’ power is pointless. It doesn’t seem to add to the story. It distracts the player and takes away interest. This is not a game I would ever suggest to anyone.

This thing is great! I often remote into my PlayStation to play games, it would be cool if you did support for the final fantasy games in the App Store though. Either way, solid product!

Please enable the use of the original SNES music. Not a single musical track from the 3D version was better than the original. Not one. I’d much rather have the option of switching to the original FFIV music. If possible I’d also rather have original sprites, as the 3D was not an improvement with the FFIV world.

I guess I'm stupid, I went and bought this game before confirming that it had gamepad support. At this point would prefer a refund.
