The social system is a million times worse than the old one. Plus, leaf bucks are worth almost nothing now. I MIGHT have paid 20$ for the old app, but it's a gross overpayment for what we have now. Nothing else has even changed, for the record.
  • I still miss the free version, but I’m glad it doesn’t seem as money-hungry anymore.

A few years ago, I started playing Sky: Children of the Light by thatgamecompany, which I quickly became addicted to. Months later, my family nearly made me quit playing because I got so addicted and forced me into getting Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Christmas by having me start playing Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp back when it was still free along with my brother who first recommended it to me. My brother quit playing after a month or so, but I began to fall in love with it. I started to become more and more inactive as time went on although I still loved the game, the reason was because I began to feel like I could do barely anything without having to pay a lot for stuff, which me and I’m sure many others were unable to pay for. Once I began to find out that they were ending online services for the free version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, I and I’m sure many others were devastated and upset by the news. As I looked more into it, I began to feel glad that in the paid version all the intense paywalls were getting removed by releasing the paid version, but felt bad knowing that my parents usually don’t let me buy those sort of things unless I had earned it. Luckily, I was able to earn it a few months later just before the price was raised from $9.99 USD to $19.99 USD. It makes me glad that now it feels easier to make progress, minus the initial paywall to accommodate it. I still feel bad that there’s still people who can’t afford it, but at least it seems easier to pay a one time purchase of $20 than paying a bunch of monthly subscriptions and other in-app purchases which probably would cost hundreds of dollars per year to reap those similar benefits, and perhaps a bit more. May Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp ‘s legacy be further continued in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete.

I have been a fan of animal crossing since it came out on GameCube. The price tag is kind of steep, but I didn’t mind paying it because you’re getting the entire game unlocked. No ads or option to buy leaf tickets with real money to boot. Which is amazing! Thank you for making the entire game available. 😊 Smooth gameplay, no issues. I am happy with everything.

It’s good, but it could use an upgrade. It should be where you can craft Ladders and “find” crafting ideas.

i’ve literally never written a review before but i love this game so much i just had to. after the original version of pocket camp, i wasn’t expecting to enjoy this game as much as i do but WOW. it’s everything i loved about the game but BETTER! if you played the old version, you know how tedious the micro transactions were without a subscription. obviously this game isn’t free, and while i did pay the launch price of only $9.99, i definitely got my money’s worth with the amount of content/features we received—even if i paid $20. with the paid version of the game you now have access to EVERYTHING. i can get all the special items/clothing/cookies i want without having to pay an additional fee! it’s truly limitless now, which is amazing given how much i’d need to buy leaf tickets in the old version. the leaf tokens that replaced the tickets are not hard to come by and there are still new features + items available every day, week, and month! you even get to appoint a camp helper, which was previously a subscription-only feature, and it makes things much less time consuming if you have a busy lifestyle and aren’t able to check in on your campsite as often as you’d like. of course i wish there was still an online aspect so you could send gifts and see what your friends have been working on, but you can add each other’s camper cards and use your friends for help with the quarry! as someone who’s played all of the animal crossing games (except amiibo festival…iykyk), i really appreciate this new version of the game. without the micro transactions it feels much less…insulting? LOL regardless of the price, i definitely recommend this game. i genuinely enjoy it more than the old version—thank you for listening to us nintendo <3

    It is entertaining.
  • Needs more islands

The update is good but the game needs more goals/ islands to aim for. Once you reach a certain level there’s not much to do especially if there’s not an event going. It desperately needs to expand space on the camp or a way to unlock more islands, it wld give me a reason to constantly play like before.
  • Crashes my hopes

As much as I love Pocket Camp Complete (and I do love it having played every version of Animal Crossing since Game Cube) I can only give this app 3 stars because it constantly, consistently crashes when crafting items. I’m talking three or four times in the space of five minutes, which causes extreme frustration.
