  • gender restrictions are too far

    While i was excited at the potential of a d friend making app in the style of modern dating apps, the gender restrictions here are frustrating and make the app almost unusable. Men, women, and nonbinary people can and are friends! i would like to make friends with women and nonbinary people, but if you set your gender to male, you will only see other men, and if you change your gender to woman or nonbinary, you won’t see any men. just a strange and extreme measure to combat what i assume is some men using this app to hit on women. surely there are other ways to fight against it. really disappointing decision and just really made me lose all hope of this being an app where i will make genuine friends.

    I’ve been really struggling with social anxiety and have literally zero friends at this point aside from my fiancée and her sister. I don’t have the confidence to talk to people every day, and the timer on the app is really inconvenient. I would use another friend finding app if there was another half decent one, but there isn’t. This is really limiting, and I feel like I’d be able to meet people more easily if they didn’t time out in two days. The pressure of having to make a move so quickly makes me not want to even open it. Why is this in place?

    The biggest issue are the people, specifically men, still using BBF for dating. This a major problem for me and many other guys on the app. Bumble has enough data to detect this nonsense and stop it. a few potential tools to curve this issue ( which yall probably use already): • using key word filters, on profiles and messages. •Checking in on conversations from time to time. •Asking participants about conversations. •Pairing same gender and sexual orientation groups, without filters. You already do it for men and women. •crossing referencing people with dating apps and BFF profiles to ensure continuity. •removing the BFF option on the bumble dating app once and for all. •restructure the prompts so they focus on friend building. - For example, what three famous figures dead or alive you want to be FRIEND with. - my favorite quality in FRIEND is.. - we will get along as FRIENDS if… • pushing a PLATONIC-centric user experience with zero tolerance for those seeking out sexual relations. Right now you folks are relying on users to report. But theres way more you can do as the owners of the platform. I believe yall can “crack”, the friendship code— but there's way more work to do. Even better cultivate a community of moderators who can help ver grey area profiles and incentive them with perks. One more thing, creator filters for the groups and events, why one doesn’t exist is beyond me. YALL CAN DO BETTER. Im more than willing to help, please let me know Sign, A systems engineer .

  • Horrible - not worth it

    This may be a great app for some, but being from a small area and being more of a home body and an introvert made this difficult. Honestly made me feel more worthless than I already felt, so that’s great. Couldn’t see much until I joined, but then there was like no one and they took my money, so it cost me $40 and after two days I hate it. I felt bad enough about myself already, I didn’t need to pay $40 to feel worse

    All it does is glitch so bad I can’t even log in. It’s ridiculous. I had a subscription I had to cancel due to not even being able to get past the 2nd log in screen it just says error or crashes.

    I used this app for maybe 3 years and spent money in those years to try and find love. Well, I got into a debate with someone on the app and she reported me because I did not agree with what she said. Mind you , it was all polite & nothing vulgar. Woke up this morning to a ban … the app employees do not care & won’t even listen to your side of the story. Please Becareful when you download this app …. Once you get reported, it’s over. I feel really bad for the other person I was talking too as we had a good conversation going & now we can’t because of the awful employee who manage this app. I am pursuing legal actions on this app because it’s insane to run a business this way …. I’d like to hear from someone from this company before I get legal authorities involved ….

    The app refuses to let you see who wants to be your friend. And honestly Ive made more friends by going to every random event I can find. Extremely predatory app don't recommend.

    Honestly it's not to bad. You can find many new friends and all. But why give us the app if you can't let us see who wants to chat with us. We have to pay for premium just to see who is liking us, not even letting us chat with that person. No one want to pay money for it just to see who added them!

    I’ve never spoken unkindly to anyone on this app, nor have I ever carried myself in a manner that was not appropriate and yet I was blocked and bumble bff refuses to lift the block, and I have never done anything against community guidelines to my knowledge. Very disappointed, wanted to meet new friends as I travel but I’m not the first person this has happened to. It is what it is, don’t recommend.
