So much of the interface is painfully outdated and it’s missing any sort of widgets for Home Screen or widget screen

App works great but a dark mode will definitely help. I don’t always want to be flash banged by the white background.
  • So Much Potential, Barely Tapped

The app is functional if you just want to check your workouts, but it’s very basic with limited features and a dated design that hasn’t changed in years. It feels laggy, like a poorly optimized mobile website. The only standout is the Apple Watch integration which works well thanks to Apple’s native interface, not the app itself. With some real investment and attention, this app has so much potential to be truly great, but no luck so far.

50% of the time I write a comment on a ride and click submit it goes to the blue page (like it was starting up) and I have to close the app to do anything else and the comments are not saved. So frustrating please fix this
  • Good for dedicated athletes with a purpose

I tried hard to like TP. I am currently on a purchased cycling program for a specific event. But I find the UI unintuitive and too much clutter on the pages. It feels like it is trying to be more than it can be. It presents data like Form, Fatigue, etc that is mostly algorithm based because I don’t see how these data can be accurate without input from multiple devices that also get HRV, RHR, blood O2, etc. IMHO, It’s is great for an athlete who is focused on a single event. Or training toward a target. This is not very good for the recreational athlete. The UI is cumbersome and presented data are cluttered. Fatigue/Form/Fitness can be misleading, unless one is feeding in data points from a few connected devices (heart rate monitor, ring or watch devices, sleep data)

TrainingPeaks in my opinion is the gold standard of training software. I have used other platforms, including AI driven software and I keep coming back to TrainingPeaks. It is both simple and easy while also providing very complex data to maximize performance.
  • Best app for tracking progress as an athlete and coach

A bit of a learning curve but as a triathlete and coach I have used a lot of different platforms and training peaks is the best.
  • Good app, poor UI

Recently inherited a premium membership via indieVelo being acquired by TrainingPeaks. Good app overall but the UI is terrible IMO. Overhauling it could make it such a better experience. That said, after partnering with a coach and starting to use the app a lot more, TrainingPeaks is superior to any other app I’ve used. The amount of data you can record and analyzed is truly unparalleled. I love Wahoo SYSTM but find myself using it less and less.
