  • Forced update

Hate the fact that an update has to be installed for opening the app - making it impossible to read / look up anything when you’re roaming/on a paid by the megabytes network - and no WiFi.
  • Needs Dark Mode and Search Refresh

The Tribune app is long overdue for dark mode. Many people read in bed at night or while soothing a baby in the wee hours, and dark mode in those cases is a necessity. The white background, even on the dimmest setting, is still super bright. Search also needs to be entirely rebuilt. Why when I click on search does the keyboard not even open immediately? There’s also zero filters or sorting options. Why can’t I specify a category, or date range? Generally the app isn’t bad now that they’ve fixed the full screen video ads that prevented you from actually reading any articles.
  • Huge improvement to e-editions

If you are a paid subscriber, the latest update makes reading the e-edition significantly easier - it’s finally as simple as it should have been for years.
  • Online is a pain!

I can’t tell you how many times I have been denied access to links to articles because the website or app doesn’t recognize me. It is soooo frustrating and not easy to figure out how to get the site to allow me access! I subscribe to 3 other online news and none are such a pain.
  • Missing be able & willing to keep 7 day Paper Edition

Online is a pain to his old Trib paperboy, 1966-70. Final straw was the Purchase & Purge… Stars are begrudging given the online skeleton.
  • Can’t log in

App won’t let me log into my Google account.
  • Paper is too liberal in its reporting.

Sports reporting is worth the time to read. Headlines and reporting are definitely leaning to the left. Used to be a worthwhile read but now a liberal/Kimmel political disappointment. Dropping my subscription after over 35 years as a customer.
  • Small Town Reporting for a Big Town

The Chicago Tribune’s writers and editors keep it real. They know their audience. Readers craving intellectual depth may turn to Chicago Bureau’s reports in The New York Times, which seem to wisely influence follow-up reporting in The Tribune. For localized relevance and color, the Tribune continues to do its lakefront best.
  • Below Average but Functional

Works fine, just really clunky, with a mediocre user interface and half the content is just a browser port. They must have hired some very recent CS grad to design this because it’s a bit amateurish.
  • Stuck

I purchased a subscription but the app keeps saying I have reached the limit of free articles and need to purchase a subscription. It’s stuck!
