What should be a romantic evening at home with your wife turns into a horror show when a police detective breaks in, accuses your wife of murder and beats you to death. Then comes the reset. Suddenly, you find yourself returning to the exact moment you opened the front door. You're stuck in a 12-minute time loop, doomed to relive the same terror again and again... The only way to break free? Gather clues from your surroundings in real time and use your knowledge of what’s coming to change the outcome.

  • Fun and worth investing your time in!

(🛑 May have spoilers for those who haven’t yet played this really cool game. It might not be for everyone, like people who aren’t exactly into deeper and more meaningful puzzle games. 🛑) I had so much fun playing this game. I thought the gameplay was simple & nice and things were easy to navigate. All the little details I caught onto as I went through decisions and continued the story really got me stuck to it! I also loved all the twists throughout the game. However… there’s a few things I’d like to mention. I was just a little disappointed with the ending (at least the one I got, if there’s more/different ones, which there probably are)—alone in my apartment, no wife, no cop, just me with my broken pocket watch and house key (pretty symbolic)—and how unfinished the setting looked. I had my graphics quality maxed out the whole time playing, and then at the end, it was just unsatisfying how dull and blocky it all looked. I dunno, maybe that was just me? But anyway, there was also a teeny bug in the middle of the game, too. At one point, my half-sister and I were tied up on the floor, and the cop was just glitching and walking into the couch… no big deal, though. I’m still not sure if there’s more to Twelve Minutes, by the way… I’m writing this review because I THINK I’m done. If I find out I’m not, I’m definitely investing more time into the game. And I get that this is a puzzle game, but even for me, as someone whose played a bunch of mystery/thriller puzzle games, some things were confusing and challenging… (but, obviously, that’s what kept me going) Well, anyway, overall, this game is a 5/5! Super interactive, great gameplay/graphics, and the protagonist is voiced by James McAvoy (I just thought that was pretty cool!).

I wish there were more games just like this one. The plot twists and “choose your own adventure” aspects were riveting. Highly recommend this game!
  • Great story, clumsy gameplay

The story was very interesting and the concept was quite unique. However, the controls are awkward and clunky to use, and in a game where time is of the essence, it really drags down the experience. Perhaps a branching story map with the ability to go to a certain scene would be helpful to cut down on the repetition, especially when a critical item is missed and a restart is needed. Overall, an engaging storyline but gameplay is not up to par. Recommended if you have the patience to work through the controls, but one playthrough to the true ending is enough. Some tips that are not obvious: - Best played on an iPad (see others’ reviews on inventory control). - Pause menu gesture is 2-finger tap on screen. - Recommend looking up a spoiler-free walkthrough (unless you want to feel frustrated); there are 3 endings where you need 1 of 2 endings to get the 3rd true ending. ~ Warning: Getting the true ending will restart the whole game. Happy gaming!

The game is repetitive and annoying. If you have nothing better to do with your life, then this game is for you.
