The new app update is clunky, unresponsive, unintuitive, and has removed a bunch of previous features. Awful update. Please bring your app up to expectations, because this is disappointing.

  • Connect:Amp Bricked with Release 80.09.09

Well, it’s gone from bad to worse. With the latest release the Sonos App no longer sees my Connect:Amp. A month after I bought this amp, several years ago, Sonos announced it would no longer be supported! Well, it seems they finally kept their word. Planned obsolescence. Meanwhile, the whole system remains buggy. The other night I woke up at 2am and turned on the downstairs TV equipped with a Sonos playbar. Without me even accessing the app, it decided to broadcast the TV audio to a speaker next to the bedrooms, waking everyone up! Thanks, Sonos.
  • Hardware good, software terrible!

The speakers are great, incredible sound quality for music or home entertainment. The app though is terrible. Linking to music/ podcast/ audio providers frequently doesn't work, constantly have to reset the system as the app cant find my speakers. And why Sonos can't develop an Apple approved Lock Screen widget is beyond me. Sort your software out Sonos!
  • App redesign useless; Sonos speakers only good for AirPlay now

Happy customer for 12+ years until the app redesign months ago. There’s no benefit to using the app, in fact it’s just frustrating. The old app was great and a really good reason to control all of your listening from their app. No more. How can you not just go back to the old app UX? And why does it take so many months to fix all the things you broke with the app update? Sonos has lost its way.

Last two updates or so seem to have finally fixed all the problems. So excited to be able to say I can recommend Sonos again.
  • 5th delete and reinstall

I’m writing a review every time I need to delete and reinstall the app to access my system. This is my fifth delete and reinstall. The app was updated 5 days ago. Sonos somehow continues to under mine years of goodwill.
  • New update is terrible

The new app update is terrible. The old app wasn't great but it was still better than this update. My system continually disconnects. Nothing has changed except the update. It's made me not want to buy anymore speakers.
  • Frustrating

What happened?!? Innovators Dilemma? Product was too good, people didn’t need to buy more so you decided to completely mess up the app? Is this a step before you start charging for the app? Make the base app so bad that people will have to pay a monthly fee for an app that works seamlessly across devices and networks? I used to be able to easily go between locations and my app would just work. Now every time I go off one network and onto another, I have to reconnect my app. And it’s never easy. Sometimes I have to completely factory reset the hardware and then reinstall the software and then reconnect the services. If Apple would have stuck to developing an entire line of smart speakers, Sonos would be in trouble. As it is, they’re the best in a mediocre market of tech (i.e. anything Bluetooth is a joke), so they can mess with their customers with terrible software because we can’t go anywhere else.
