  • Can’t Do Anything Without Paying; Waste of Time

    I’m not very happy about this. I was able to learn two chords, Em and A9, then it told me that if I were to go any farther, I would have to pay for Simply Guitar premium. I kind of saw it coming, but I didn’t think that it would force me to pay ON MY SECOND CHORD! I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to play guitar now. As a young person without cash, I can’t pay for premium. If you are reading this to download it, I just want to warn you that it is a HUGE cash grab. Unless you are practically rolling in cash to be able to pay for premium, DON’T download it!! On a different note, what little bit that I was able to do for free was actually REALLY helpful. I can play Em and A9 like a pro now. That’s the only reason that it’s a 3 star review and not 1 star.

    Whenever I tried the app the tuner worked fine but audio pickup was awful I had to the same note over and over again

    I love this app. I’ve had the “goal” of leaning to play guitar my whole life, I’ve even had a guitar for (it pains me to admit this ) 15 years- and I finally started with Simply Guitar a month ago. Here’s where I’m at today: I practice everyday. Simply guitar makes this easy to do as the lessons meet me where I’m at, they are digestible, fun, achievable. It’s my favorite thing to do every day. I’m playing songs (my lifelong goal is actually happening). I’ve learned chords, I’m beginning to build muscle memory where chords are feeling automatic, I’ve built strength in my fingers that allows me to practice for longer each time, and I’m having a lot of fun. Yesterday I went into the song library and played 15 different songs fairly well. The app is great, it’s fun, I’m learning a ton, I’m playing guitar!

    The app picks up the “correct” note when you play any string half of the time and the course just ends abruptly without really teaching you the mechanics you need for strumming or the amount of pressure you need for the strings. Don’t waste your money

    It won’t let you play until you tune it. My guitar was already tuned before this and now I can’t do anything!

  • Cant get past first song cause of tuner

    My electric guitar is perfectly in tune. The Low E string can not possibly get as low as the tuner is trying to make me do it. Every time I play no matter how low i make it, the tuner says “Too high!”. Very disappointed I cant skip this section
