I’ve been using Paprika 3 for years on my iPhone and iPad but often want to search for and update recipes on my MacBook Pro. So I’m very happy this app is available.
  • Lack of modernization is disheartening

It’s a simple throwaway app, but unfortunately doesn’t implement any modern features such as the share button to parse recipes from anything outside of safari. Reported several times to no avail. Just a warning if you want this to be a bit more versatile.

I love this app and have been using it for years. I am not aware of any recipe app that compares. if I had to nit-pick, I would suggest the following improvements: 1) Change the icon for the Mac app. It is the only one that doesn’t fit correctly in the dock. Just about every other app is a nice square, this app is an odd-sized icon that looks bigger than all the rest. 2) The intro/notes don’t import correctly from NYT cooking. I end up manually copying the intro before I click the share/import button for Paprika, then paste it in the description field. If it pulled the intro properly from NYT Cooking and feed the app icon, I would have absolutely no complaints about this app! Great job, guys.

I’ve been using this App for many years. After having used others, this is the only App with excellent support and updates. As of today I have more than 8,000 recipes in it.

This is such an easy way to save recipes and organize them. This has been worth every dollar for the phone app and the computer app. I love that when I turn my phone horizontally the ingredients list and directions show side by side and scroll separately! I love that I can share recipes with other Paprika users. I love that I can organize special menus and meal plans. This has really helped my meal planning and execution, which has saved time and money! I highly recommend this app!

Disregard my previous note about the out of stock pantry items. I just figured it out... I'm really enjoying using this app. I read about it on one of the vegan food websites. People were discussing it in the comments section. Very glad I found out about it.
  • BEST Recipe Manager App, by FAR!

I converted over to using Paprika Recipe Manager app on my iPhone from another app (Pepperplate) that used to be free, but then decided to start charging a subscription ($35/year!) And I don't do subscriptions. I found Paprika, which also created an easy way to import your library from Pepperplate, and was only $5 ONCE (No subscription!) Best $5 I've EVER spent! Shortly after discovering how unbelievable the feature set was, I decided to buy the Mac App so I can add recipes easily when I'm on my computer, and sync seamlessly between my devices, AND have my recipes large on the screen when/if needed. My favorite features are: Ease of importing/saving recipes from websites, and getting off those disgusting, ad-ladden dumpster-fires as quickly as possible, and into a clean, easy to read, interface. Can CUSTOMIZE and modify recipies to your heart's content! Make them your own! I also copy the original recipe into the Notes section before changing anything so I can go back and reference it in case I changed something too much and need to go back a bit. LOVE how you click/tap an ingredient and it crosses it out! So you don't accidentally double-up on salt, chili pepper, etc.! And also how you tap on a step and it highlights where you're currently at. LOVE that when you email a recipe to a friend or family member, it lays it out beautifully in an email, AND includes the Paprika attachment file so if they have the app, too, they can simply import it directly into their Paprika recipe library! Categories AND sub-categories: I love that I can create as many categories and sub-categories as I want, and label things as not only what they are (desert, dinner, snack, drink, dairy-free, gluten-free, etc.) but also WHO I got the recipe from (z FROM: Mom, Zack, Sara, etc.) or even just "Recipes to try" and of course star rating them as well is great! Love the built-in timers! Love being able to add my own photos, or at least a close enough equivalent that I find online and save to represent what it is visually until I can take my own. LOVE the visual layout of thumbnail view, and that it lets you pick between that and list view. love that it as a feature for meal planning and creating a grocery list based upon what you want to make, though I haven't used this feature yet as I have a pretty good idea of what I have and what I need to buy. Only cons for me are: - Scaling: I wish you could choose EXACTLY how much to scale a recipe, based upon a primary ingredient (say recipe calls for 1.5 lbs of chicken, and I have 1.75 lbs, I'd like to be able to scale up the amount of all ingredients by 1.17x (17%) - It doesn't do my dishes for me ;p Seriously, this is one of my top 5 apps and wouldn't be able to live without it! I've convinced SO many friends and family to use it and they all rave about it now!

I've saved over 1000 recipes he. i've gone through hand printed recipes kept in file folders and included them here. I have organized all of my recipes in one place and put into notes when i prepared the recipes and to whom I served them.
