According to CBT models, negative self talk – individuals’ interpretations of the self, others and the world - maintain psychological difficulties such as low self esteem, mood, and maladaptive behavior. HOW DO I BUILD MY SELF-ESTEEM? The foundations of healthy confidence and self esteem are built upon beliefs. Our beliefs have the potential to bias and affect our ability to deal with daily situations. For example, if I believe that "everything in myself needs to be prefect", I won't be able to live up to these expectations and my confidence will decrease. BELIEFS AND SELF TALK Beliefs and self talk are interrelated. Once we learn to embrace healthier and more adaptive self-talk, it can change our beliefs and help us get rid of the ones that negatively affect our confidence and self esteem. IS THIS APP SIMILAR TO PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPY? Our app platform is not designed to be used as a therapy or treatment, however: 1. It is being used by CBT therapists as a complementing tool. 2. It helps in maintaining self esteem during or after therapy. 3. It is found to relieve symptoms of anxiety, worries, obsessions and more. HELPFUL THINKING The basic task in the app is simple - you will be presented with thoughts. If the thought promotes unhelpful self talk - throw it away by swiping it up. If the thought promotes positive or helpful thinking, accept it by swiping it down. The more we train, the more automatic this process becomes. HOW MUCH SHOULD I TRAIN EACH DAY? To feel better and improve your confidence, start today! GG Apps are designed to be most effective in short training sessions. You are advised to complete up to 3 levels per day, which should only take between 3-4 minutes. LEVELS AND TOPICS The app's many topics and themes are broken down into more than 500 levels. Each level has a pool of self talk statements (or thoughts).     What they don’t tell you until you’ve already downloaded the app & made selections on what you’d like to improve is you get 7 days free then suscribe @ $59.99/yr. I don’t trust anyone that hides this info until the end. The developer needs some self-help themselves.

    It seems a bit repetitive but maybe that’s what makes new mindsets items stick? I wish there were mixed exercises daily. The swiping up or down seems thoughtless but again maybe I don’t understand the science behind it.

    I really wanted to like this app as it looked perfect for my goals for the new year, but after downloading it I couldn’t get it to actually open. All I could see was the beginning screen with the developer’s name and never even saw the screen in the actual app itself. Really disappointed that I can’t even try it out. 😒

    I’m trying to work through childhood trauma. I do find this helpful, but for the mood tracker, I often feel empty and numb and those are not options.

    After only a couple days I already notice how my thinking had changed to be more positive. I've been in a much better mood! There are some things in the app that i find slightly annoying: - the fake ellipses typing with the messages. It makes that part of the app noticeably longer than it has to be because you're waiting for a fake person to type a message to you. If that could be turned off so that the messages just showed up that would be great - no back button when evaluating your mood. I accidentally clicked the wrong thing then had no way to amend my choices - an all or nothing rating system for each new series ( only four choices, no middle "sometimes" option). This causes me to inaccurately answer and also causes me to feel differently than i would about my circumstance due to having to select from one of the extremes - when asking if you want to save something to your toolbox, the placement and design of the skip button at the bottom has caused me to accidentally click that instead of saving something more than once - some of the cards are written in a confusing way. I think they could be reviewed. I'd also consider accessibility standards around language because some of your word choices might be hard for all reading levels to understand But otherwise I'm excited about this app. I've tried listening to affirmations or positive thoughts in the morning before but none have had such a big impact on my positivity and mood as this does. I think has something to do with being forced to stop, analyze and choose which thoughts to accept. And you can do this app anytime and anywhere (no headphones needed) which is great.
