Great motivator, but I wish they would do payouts in something other than PayPal, especially with PayPal now withholding income tax if you withdraw more than $600 a year. With StepBet most of what we earn was our initial bet, so we’re essentially getting taxed twice for that money- once when we earned it from our jobs, and again when we withdraw it from PayPal. Adding other money transfer apps like Cash App or Apple Cash, or receiving it on our original payment method would increase many people’s satisfaction.

If youre on vacation and don’t update everyday they will take your money even if you meet do meet the daily the step count. Good way to lose $40 . Also, ive won 5-6 games straight and payouts dont break even unless you pay $60 for membership. From what I can see they nickel and dime you. Be careful before buying

I have requested and waited for multiple weeks to clam my points worth $60+, to no avail. There is nothing wrong with my PayPal, this is a scam beware.

They make you jump through a bunch of hoops to get your money back. It feels like a scam

I love this app because it is very motivating and encourages me to move more. I look at it as a bet/investment in myself and well-being.
  • Used to be fast payout, now I can’t get paid

I have used this app for a while and had non problem getting paid. Now they are making me jump through hoops and not replying to emails. No customer service!
  • Good to motivate. Bad when you want your payout.

I requested my payout over a week ago and still nothing in my PayPal. I have contacted them twice and no response. Be very committed to this app because once your warned money is theirs, it’s theirs forever.
  • Poor support.

I joined a StepBet recently thinking it would be great. The contest itself is great but the app is horrible to deal with. It does not update your steps in any reasonable amount of time. I can sit and refresh my steps for 25 minutes before they’re updated. The data is also supposed to be pulled from my watch and apple health and stepbets count is typically off (and lower) by a few hundred steps. The app crashes frequently, you cannot search for your comments/replies (so you may never find your thread again). I get zero push notifications related to my game, only stepbets promos to join another game which I will not be doing after this experience.
  • Step count always wrong

StepBet is a cool idea, the step tracker is very inaccurate usually 500 below if not up to 2000 below my regular Apple step count. no amount of updating makes it accurate.
  • Concept is good, app is glitchy

I’ve done many StepBets and while I enjoy the game and concept, the app is really glitchy. It takes forever to upload and I constantly have to close out and restart the app just to sync my steps.
