    Other than their pricing plan (none), I was happy using the app to pull up short meditations for my son and I to do together. I also enjoyed the access to such respected and varied teachers' (short) meditations all in one place - it was much easier than searching their websites. However, I almost don't want to go on any longer since the redesign. If you love social media metrics and values, by all means skip this review – the app is fine for you. But that's not what I want as a part of my mindfulness practice. I do not want an algorithm picking meditations for me. I do not want my practice logged and given a value. I don't want to set time-based goals. And I don't want to ask to select from a limited number of pre determined interests that aren't even reflected in the meditations recommended to me! Yet this is what you wade through on Happier. I came off a seven day silent retreat recently and when I finally opened my phone, I logged in to Happier to listen to my teacher who was being featured on 10%. Upon opening, a screen popped up that basically said, "well, you totally missed your goal but don't give up, tomorrows another day" bc I hadn't logged any minutes for 10 days. Happier, I had just sat for 8hrs a day, seven days in a row, and I'll tell you, I wasn't feeling discouraged about the amount of hours I'd been on the pillow! The message felt ridiculous...and manipulative, like a guilting grandma. Anyway, if Happier provided an option to turn off the scorekeeping and suggesting so that I could just access the content, I'd up the stars because there's a lot to enjoy here. Happier, I invite you to ask yourself, how would the Buddha design this app? Keeping track of hours, or spreading the dharma? 🤔

    I have been having chronic pain issues for years. I’ve done multiple mind/body strategies and many of them have been helpful. But I finally realized the connection when I started listening to the Podcasts and meditating with the Happiness app that I started to see real progress. An over-aroused nervous system (due to childhood trauma or whatever it is due to) sets off the immune system that then manifests itself in the body in multiple places. I can now detect even a thought that then is related to somewhere in my body. Thanks so much for helping me. LWL

    It is nice to enter my day with a clear mind, I started doing this meditation for a challenge through my work. But now I will continue to practice mediating as a part of my daily routine.

    the videos were definitely recorded landscape orientation and were converted to portrait. overall boring videos that i would force myself to watch and they were way too long

    I love 10% Happier. I love Dan Harris. I love the podcast. I love the book. I love the original app. But I detest the new “check-in” Home Screen. I don’t need another required interaction to get to what I want. I didn’t come here for homework or an interview before being admitted. And I hate that I have to complete every piece of content in a challenge before moving on. Please let me bail if I want to bail. Please let me choose what greets me at launch. Our digital worlds are already cluttered with captchas and newsletter sign-up screens and requests for reviews and pop-up ads. I really want my favorite meditation app to be a respite. Keep it clean. Simple. Unobtrusive. Help me when I ask for it but get out of the way otherwise and let me simply go where want to go.
