  • Calendar is buggy on MacOS app

    I’m a paying customer but for some reason calendar events don’t show in a filter’s timeline view on Mac, but it displays on the web app. Losing my trust in the quality of this app!

    I have been using this app since 2017 and there have been constant enhancements that really add benefits. A lot of apps implement changes that only add complexity, but the enhancements to TickTick add capability without causing the app to become more cumbersome to use. My favorites that have been added are the Eisenhower Matrix, the Gantt chart, and Kanban. Though I don’t use the calendar and the goal setting sections, they look like solid additions. The thing that keeps me using the app more than anything is the excellent syncing with any kind of OS and the fact that all of my data going back to 2017 is still available for reference.

    I was previously using GoodTask, and I absolutely loved it. However, I couldn’t get a good visual of my day, how busy it was and when I could schedule my next appointments in. I run a small repair business and it’s super common to have to rearrange my schedule every day, multiple times a day. I love the way TIckTick lays out my schedule in several different ways, calendar, list, by priority… Part of the time I’m on my phone and at other times, I’m on my Mac. The integration is smooth and never lags when updating between them. The only problem with such a powerful app, is that it does so much that it can be a learning curve and a commitment to understand it. I put in the time and after 2 months of using it, I’ve committed to the yearly fee. I did have one issue and the developer responded promptly and gave me just the answer that I needed. This app makes my life easier and more manageable and that’s worth paying for.

    I absolutely LOVE TickTick on my iPhone, and it has been my “brain” and savior for years now. It can do nearly everything I want it to, and I can even share tasks with my partner (should he ever choose to look at them…) The MacOS version however, is flat out UNUSABLE. I had not used it on MacOS since I first adopted it (back then it was okay save the occasional glitch). I opened it today and all of the tasks were TWO YEARS out of date, showing red and overdue. The sync button? Useless. Didn’t respond to clicks. I tried from the Menu bar. No sync. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Same two-year out of date tasks, same inability to sync. At this point I’m so deep in it and happy with my experience in my heavy use of the iOS app, but if I could give it NEGATIVE stars for the MacOS version and lack of syncing experience, I would. Unfortunately according to Reddit this is a longstanding years-long issue. I will be keeping my eye out for a better app and will no longer be recommending it to every single person I know. PLEASE PLEASE fix your app. If I ever wanted to go back to using this for business it would be an instant no-go for me.
