We take care of all the routines like expense tracking and bill monitoring so you can clearly focus on money management operations. Always know what's in your pocket! A budget is a difference between income and expenses. If it's positive - you're doing well. In any other case, the budget is unbalanced and needs attention. This is where the "IN MY POCKET" feature takes action. How much disposable income do you have after paying your bills, saving for your goals, and setting aside enough money for needs and wants? The PocketGuard budgeting app does those calculations for you! Always know the actual safe-to-spend amount so you can fit your monthly budget. Comprehensive analytics! Budget and expense tracking are just a part of the story. If you wanna do money management the right way you need to learn from the data you track. PocketGuard's budgeting app provides you with various reports to let you see personal finances from different angles. Learn about your spending habits, make necessary adjustments, and optimize your monthly budget. Bill tracker and subscription manager! You can use PocketGuard as a bill organizer. Once you connect bank accounts the app starts working as a finance tracker. All your bills and subscriptions will be identified automatically and included in your monthly budget. The bill organizer will help you never miss the due date again. PocketGuard bill organizer gives you an easy way to negotiate better rates with your provider. So you can optimize your budget by cutting costs on services you use. PocketGuard subscription manager will help you to find subscriptions you might have forgotten about. This is another money management trick - stop paying for services you no longer need. Set and reach your financial goals! Goals are a key concept of budgeting. As was mentioned before, expense tracking is just a part of the story. Personal finance is made of goals. Let's say you want to spend less on shopping or save more for vacation. These are financial goals. The PocketGuard budget app gives you all the necessary tools to set them properly. Set up your debt-payoff plan! Nobody's perfect and almost anyone has debt to pay off. The question is: do you have a plan? Connect all your credit and loan accounts and we'll show you the way to a debt-free future. Our smart algorithm calculates the most profitable debt repayment strategy so you'll save hundreds or even thousands by paying less in interest! I forgot to cancel on the 14th day. I actually was going to continue with using the app but on a month to month basis. Once I realize I forgot to cancel I tried to get a refund. I have been denied on all fronts. I feel scammed now I do not want to even use the app anymore. Do not sign up for the free trial, they will not give your money back.

PocketGuard is very good and easy to use. It could be excellent and will deserve a five star if it can give a bar chart for monthly expenditures and report expenditures for customized period.
  • Clunky but effective

The app overall is great and their customer support is quick to respond. I love that it helps get basic budgeting answers done. My biggest problem is the lack of compatibility with other banks. For months, my Marcus accounts refused to sync, and even though Pocketguards customer service was responsive, the issue took literal months to fix. Everything worked fine for another two months, and then my local bank stopped syncing, and the customer service gave me the same response. I appreciate the communication and hard work, but when your banks constantly don’t sync with the app, the app becomes ineffective. Whenever the app finally reconnects to my bank, I’ll have to go back and play catch-up on all my transactions while operating in the dark in the mean time. Now, with this happening twice, I’ll just be paranoid when the next time one of my banks no longer syncs up with PocketGuard. Again, it’s a good app, so maybe I’m just unlucky, but when your app doesn’t sync with the banks, it becomes pointless, especially when you spend a large chunk of money on the app itself.

My IP looks suspicious. On both my laptop and phone. No VPN…
  • Awful app

The app shows net worth per month as bar plot, which is terrible and calculation is incorrect. All apps I used or tried before show net worth as line or area chart, which is more appropriate. Also the app freezes most of the time while loading new transactions and I have to close the app and re-open it again. Some of its features like “Plan” are useless because it’s so confusing to use.
  • Glitchy but nicely structured

I really hope that they can fix the glitching. We just installed this a few days ago, both me and my husband are having issues of needing to close out of app because of loading

I’m so frustrated and disappointed. App freezes constantly with latest iOS. Also cannot log in via web app either. If not fixed I have to Churn. Totally hope they get it fixed.
  • Very buggy

This app is so frustrating. It is great for the services that it offers, such as budgeting and tracking spending, but when you go to update transactions it gets stuck loading and I constantly have to exit out of it and half the time it won’t reload when I reopen it. I’m frustrated that I paid for the year subscription and now I have to deal with a very buggy app that makes it impossible to use most of the time.

I had to leave Mint and I chose Pocketguard due to the fantastic reviews. I love (d) it! A solid 5-star here up until the end of Aug 2024. However, each month I am adding more and more accounts that I have to update manually into the Cash area. The first one was Thrift Savings Plan and it is one balance that can be updated monthly. No big deal. The next was my credit union that was syncing beautifully on a daily basis until 31 Aug. There’s a good amount of activity in that account. I deleted that account in Pocketguard and established the balances in Cash and I update several accounts with several transactions daily. I contacted the credit union (Tyndall in FL) and they told me the data was being aggregated using Plaid and their system is not updated to handle Plaid and they’re pretty sure it never will be. I did not get that from Pocketguard; I did that research myself I’m not happy. I lost my history on that acct and I sent the imported last year’s transactions from the credit union to Pocketguard using their “import” procedure. No response, no updates. Now, as of 30 Sep, Merrill Lynch is no longer syncing/updating. I don’t really want to spend all this time manually updating these multiple accounts when I have paid for the premium PocketGuard. Plus If I lose that history…wow. I notified Pocketguard. The error was Error code 170. Their responses leave a lot to be desired: this is a known issue with Merrill Lynch and we are working on it. Identical to the response when I reported my credit union’s problems. No inkling of what the actual issue is and how long this will take. Why isn’t there a central repository of known problems and when they’ll be fixed like Mint had? The account was syncing perfectly before, why did it stop on 30 Sep? If it’s Plaid again, there may never be a fix. I might as well start building my spreadsheet now. So I’m sorry to say, I cannot recommend PocketGuard anymore.
  • Hard to Use!

As a career banker and someone with an MBA, I found this app extremely difficult to use. It double counted many things which was an effect of using both the recurring bills category and budget tracking. This was not apparent at set up and I could not get it to right itself, even making recurring items inactive and asking for assistance from customer service, who also was not helpful. At the end of the month, it showed that I had a negative number left in my pocket, which was incorrect, but then when I added a paycheck as income for that period it went negative thousands more…how can that even occur mathematically and in a user-friendly experience? Do not recommend! Going back to the Dave Ramsey app.
