  • Nerfing their own app

    Used it for two years, recently cancelled as they removed functionality from the app. If you need/want to download music to listen to offline find somewhere else. Used to just hit play, could even shuffle downloads. I’m on airplanes all the time so this was what I needed. Now the play and shuffle functions have been removed. You can make a playlist of all your downloaded songs but you have to be online to play your playlists. Playlists will also randomly stop playing after a song ends and you have to go back into the app to start the playlist again. Contacted customer support about a work around but never got a response. Eff them, there are other services to give your money to instead. I hope I get an automated response to this review to provide you with even better insight

  • Carplay - No song in progress

    Simply put, why make this a carplay app if your current played song is not retained once you exit app/vehicle and come back to a clean slate and no song in progress. That should be #1 feature for a carplay app. Qobuz devs, why is this missing?

    Qobuz provides an unique experience in online streaming service similar to browsing through a physical record store. In contrast to a personalized front page like most streaming platforms, Qobuz puts the latest records on the front page while offering to select certain genres. Even though some of the genres are mislabeled, as I am a metalhead who is really cares about genres LOL, the categories are the most prestigious on the market by far. Another feature that I enjoy is being able to browse through the publications of each record company. There are some records that I really commend, so I am happy to easily see their collection without going to their website. I realize that I have yet to talk about the critical aspect of a streaming service- quality. Though many audiophiles prefer Qobuz to Tidal, suggesting that Qobuz provides more “natural” sound while the latter sounds a bit artificial. I do like the sound of Tidal for a little bit more since it sounds more detailed to me. Fortunately, after nearly a month of consideration, I decide to stick to Qobuz for several reasons. One of them is that it seems less stressful after long hours listening to the warmer sound from Qobuz than the sharper sound from Tidal. Another reason is that Tidal does not contain the soundtrack of “spirit: stallion of the cimarron”, which is coming from one of my favorite movies. Anyways,Qobuz, I’m back!!!

    Everything was great until my downloads disappeared (I have the latest version) If this doesn’t get fixed I’ll have to find another music service. It’s a shame because Qobuz sounds much better than the others.

    Been using it for about a week now and playlist have been freezing here and there. Also there no shuffle button on CarPlay integration. iOS features seem to very basic. The quality of the music is great though.

    I’ve discovered way more interesting music than Spotify etc. Also, Qobuz isn’t evil like Spotify, who rips off artists. Highly recommend Qobuz!!

    Loved the way I could access my downloads by track in order of artist with the alphabetical access on the side. Now that’s gone and I have to scroll through thousands of songs to get to the bottom. Filters don’t work. Most of the time album art doesn’t work with Apple CarPlay or Bluetooth.

    Sound quality is AMAZING. I could just listen to music with my headphones on all day. I’ve heard sounds and instruments that I’ve never heard in songs that I listened to quite often.
