worked well until the latest update, app seems to crash often now, not as user friendly…

New updates have ruined the functionality of the app. Put the useful shortcuts back at the top. Now I have to scroll to the bottom and unlock each door one at a time.

As others are saying, all of a sudden the value of this app seriously degraded. The shortcuts for things like Lights and Locks are buried making it inconvenient to the point of unusable. I’d seriously think twice about integrating anything into the Ring ecosystem
  • Terrible update late December 2024

You’ve practically ruined Ring in one update because you hid the light feature so far deep under so many layers. It can no longer be quickly accessed so the more path lights you have the harder it is to manage. There’s no central location to see all the battery levels of the lights and mine don’t work anymore Anyways. The motion stopped working on them along time ago, so the lights won’t trigger if you walk by them, I have tried all the resets and the firmware updates, troubleshooting, etc. and yet another ring light I bought has never worked from the day that I purchased it. Garbage. The ring cameras work pretty well, but overall, I am very frustrated with the reliability of Ring and this very crappy app update with no thought to the user experience has ruined Ring and any interest in purchasing anything more. The path lasted about a year before I started having the motion problems. I’ve owned them about two years total. don’t waste your money on this product.
  • What happened to the badge notifications?

A recent update to the app has removed the badge notifications. With this change, I now have no idea how many new recordings are in each camera since last check. PLEASE RETURN THE BADGE NOTIFICATIONS.

With the new update I now have to manually check each camera to see if there are any new events I need to know about. A very frustrating, time wasting, and anti-functional change. Please fix this.
  • Location now required?!

Thanks for making location required, you don’t need that. Keep this up and all my ring cameras come down.
  • Not liking these new changes

Absolutely hate the new camera cards on the dashboard. The darkened bar at the top (presumably to make the white text easier to read) makes the camera picture so dark it's difficult to see what's happening on the camera. I set the cameras up - I know what it's showing without having to read the name. Although, now that I can't see what's happening in the camera shot, having the text showing the camera name there is helpful. But I'd rather see what was going on, since that was why I bought cameras in the first place.

Ring fixed their update so that from the dashboard you can see, at a glance, if there’s any new activity on a camera. There’s a blue dot indicating new recordings not yet reviewed. This is very helpful because you don’t need to go into the events, by camera, to see if there’s any new recordings.
