  • I use this app all the time to keep track of my bucket list

New Review (11-16-24) I wrote this review a while ago, but since then they have updated the price to a more reasonable amount of $60/year compared to before where it used to be $140/year. I understand that there are operating costs related to storing our pins, I will gladly support the app now that the subscription amount has been lowered. Thank you for listening to the reviews that people left on here. Old Review (10-17-24) The one thing that I hate most is the fact that I can no longer add unlimited places without having to pay $20/month, or $140/year. I understand you need to make money to support this app, but please, do not make the 300 place limit part of the subscription. I will no longer recommend this app since you now have a cap to how many places I can add. 300 places is like nothing, it would be better if it was unlimited for free like it used to be for all these years.
  • Best mapping app by far

As somebody who likes to sort things in … the most specific ways possible this app has been a life saver. I live in New York & work at a dive bar so i’m ALWAYS finding and hearing recommendations. Weather it’s in the city or another country. Being able to easily track everything, color code it with as many tags as i want, rate it / add photos AND be able to share my account with bar guests who are visiting and want some recommendations in the city (and let’s be real, there’s too many to remember off the top of my head). Along with the tag of knowing what’s currently open. I’ve been wanting an app/format like this for so long & google maps / map keys weren’t specific enough for me. I could not recommend is app enough.

You want to charge more than the annual subscription for Office 365? Is this a prank?

I have used and loved this app for years. My family and myself have loved logging all the places we visit. However, they have now decided to charge an outrageous subscription fee to use what was once free. Sad to see it go, but I’ll just use my notes app to keep track of places.
  • So disappointed.

I’ve been using this app for well over a year, almost daily. It was wonderful for travel and sharing with friends. The new subscription model is an absolute deal-breaker. $140 is INSANE for what is offered. I’m so disappointed to be deleting this app. Shame.

Was one of my favorite apps but now they’ve adopted a subscription payment model at a ridiculous price. Really would love to stay if they can make it cheaper or provide alternatives. If not, will have to find another app.
  • How to Destroy an App 101

Greedy, greedy, greedy developers. Loyal user of this app for years, when suddenly they charge an insane $80 a year fee to continue using it. Incredibly brain dead decision from all involved, I genuinely can’t believe it made it past the ideation stage. There are certainly better options to raise money instead of killing off 95% of your user base. I hope all these 1 star reviews make you realize just how stupid this decision was.
  • New Subscriptions - Limited Saves

I really enjoyed this app when I first got it for saving and labeling different places I’d love to visit… until today. I open the app, and am greeted by some ridiculous video of some guy letting users know how excited they are about introducing a new paid membership for “additional perks”. The perks of course being simply USING the app as it was originally intended. I am now unable to add any more locations to my map without paying 80 DOLLARS a year for mapstr plus. How stupid. Now that Google Maps has updated their saved locations feature and labeling options, I’ll have to transition back. It’s very disheartening that the creators of this app seriously think their product is worth 80$ a year when they haven’t even added anything substantial in the past year or so that I’ve had it. If you want to save more than 300 locations on your map (trust me, it adds up very quickly), then don’t waste your time downloading this app unless you’re willing to pay 80$ a year for it. I plan on doing some hunting to see if I can find a similar app that hasn’t completely sold out like this app unfortunately has.

I used to LOVE this app. I was one of the first users of it (over 1,000 pins) and helped spread the word to help them grow. Now, they're asking me to pay $59 (discounted from $79) up front to keep adding places to my map. Why isn't there a monthly subscription option? Why is the fee so high? Way too pricey for what you get and with no monthly subscription available- too much cost upfront. Guess it's time to find another app.
  • New pricing model a deal breaker

I’ve enjoyed this app for a long time, and I would love to pay a reasonable price for the developers to continue evolving it, but the price that they are now requiring for users with more than 300 locations is absurd. The monthly fee they’re asking should be a one time cost to use the app indefinitely.
