I prefer a streaming service that will extrapolate on my listening choices and introduce me to similar artists and styles. IE, Pandora.
  • the music curated on this app is so fantastic da app crashes ✨🌊🌌🪷✨

I rock with Tidal over the rest.
  • Better than Spotify and Apple Music

Originally came to Tidal for the ability to block songs or entire artists during music discovery (this was absent on Apple Music and faulty on Spotify), but I haven't looked back since. It's a great service.

I downloaded Tidal because I heard it had great streaming quality, which it does. I also downloaded Tidal because Spotify is a glitchy mess, and doesn’t pay artists fairly. Tidal is more expensive than Spotify, so I hoped it would operate smoother. Nope. The search function is hopeless at best, I’ve had it be unable to find songs I know are on the platform. The streaming itself is high quality, but requires such a strong connection to either WiFi or cellular, that it’s nearly impossible to stream on anything but the lowest, Spotify default, setting. On top of all this, the app crashes often. The icing on the cake came a couple of weeks ago when over 50% of my music library disappeared. Redownloading solves the issue, but it’s happened 4 times to date. On top of all that, it gets even worse. I launched their help center, an UI chat bot and the only option available, to log a complaint. After being told I’d soon receive an email with instructions, I waited days before I contacted the UI chat bot again, and again waited days for no response. TIDAL is a useless, shallow, cash grab that has truly nothing to offer to the music streaming world. Hopefully this will keep a few people from burning their money on a subscription.

I wish there were some better mechanisms for using the app in CarPlay, but it’s otherwise fantastic. Amazing quality of sound. I love that it doesn’t just play the same thirty songs at you repeatedly. Glad we switched to Tidal.
  • What a service

After not using the dj streaming package for months, I decided to end my subscription. Only to find out it’s deleting my account, that’s fine. The issue is no TIDAL support to find out if I would continue to be billed because deleting isn’t canceling. No such luck and bill another month for a streaming service that I didn’t need or want anymore.
  • Pricing is a lie. Streaming HiFi music is not. Canceled due to lousy advertising practices.

I signed up for a free trial to experience HiFi audio on my headphones. Tidal claims to be $10.99. However when you sign up it’s $13.99. They also claim to offer a student tier which does not exist. 4 subscriptions exist, but for some reason there are 2 individual plans and 2 family plans. Each is significantly more expensive than advertised on their website. Talk about scummy advertising. They have good HiFi music, but also have crappy advertising practices, and lie about pricing on their website. As such I have canceled my trial and won’t be renewing my subscription.
  • Downloads are broken

The only way to get downloads to somewhat work is to play music and keep the download screen open. Even then you’ll get one song that refuses to download and can’t be removed from the download queue.
