  • Very Good, Well Supported App

As a premium member of RideWithGPS, I've found it to be an incredibly powerful tool for creating and navigating bike routes. The ability to easily create and edit routes is fantastic, and the curated routes in my local area are a really nice touch. I also appreciate the cross-platform compatibility; the iOS app performs flawlessly during rides, and I can seamlessly edit and create routes on my Windows PC. The customer support is truly exceptional. I had some questions about route creation, and Justin went above and beyond to ensure I understood everything. It's clear that RideWithGPS is committed to helping users get the most out of their features. The app itself is well-designed, with a depth of functionality that allows users to grow into its more advanced features over time. However, there are a couple of areas where the app could be improved. As the documentation rightly points out, it's crucial to meticulously review direction cues before embarking on a ride. It's easy to inadvertently shift a route point and end up with erroneous turn instructions. This highlights the app's complexity; like Photoshop or GIMP, RideWithGPS has a significant learning curve. The 'draw lines' tool, in particular, requires a steady hand and careful attention to avoid unintended route alterations. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience with RideWithGPS has been excellent. The app's power and flexibility make it an invaluable tool for serious cyclists. Just be prepared to invest some time in learning its intricacies. Four stars!
  • Worst app

This apps navigation is by far the worst I’ve used. It is not intuitive, it doesn’t track well when you’re riding. It’s flat out garbage. It’s only good for the route map. Use something else for navigation
  • 2025 and terrible since 2018.

I’m oblgated to use this app because of the groups I ride longer trips with. I hate this app. My ancient Garmin ETrex 30x is much more reliable and has more features. I absolutely never rely on this app on a long trip. 1. No contrast between route and background … impossible to see in the daylight. 2. Blinded at night because there’s NO dark mode… this is a safety hazard. 3. If you accidentally start a ride you must save it THEN delete it. 4. Randomly zooms in and out when reviewing routes. 5. Cant sort routes by download date. 6. Apple Watch pairing unreliable. 7. Cant bulk delete photos.

    Ride with GPS works great.
  • Great core features, navigation needs work

The app’s core features, such as route planning, are truly the best out there. The one thing that really needs improving in the app is navigation - I can never seem to find what I’m looking for. The “Home” tab seems to be a catch-all for seemingly disconnected things: Stats, Route Planner, Friends, but also Activity…? The “Library” tab has your Routes, but not your Collections. I could go on with examples but you get the picture. I recommend the designers/developers to watch the WWDC talk “Explore navigation design for iOS” (2022) and try to more closely adhere to what Apple recommends for navigation patterns on iOS.
  • Best to create routes.

Easy to use and very powerful features. Does not work in Europe as good as in USA however does a great job. Strava should take some notes or will be falling behind.
  • Why is it so difficult to replan a route?

This used to be the best ride planning app and now it’s almost impossible to deal with. I can move a route line from one road to another alternative road without the app failing and kicking me out. It isn’t worth the subscription price.
  • Great app for Training

I am training for the AIDS/Lifecycle Ride — 545 miles in 7 Days, from SF to LA. Ride with GPS is great for identifying increasingly longer rides near me that are fun, challenging, and safe. Other experienced cyclists are often the ones creating the routes, so they do all the legwork, and I reap the benefits!
  • Great App!

Love this app, I used it for riding in the 2024 MidSouth race and it performed flawlessly! I also use it with the Jeep Club for SAG on the MidSouth race too. It works great!
  • Needs more work

I have two issues: 1) the only way to get turn by turn on my Apple Watch seems to be to press the record button on the app (the only button on the watch). But this caused the watch to record a duplicate ride in my library. 2) when I’m off route the app will just keep complaining but is not smart enough to get me back onto the route like any other navigator would do. 3) [update] I tried to sync a finished ride. Got the message that internet was not connected. I guess 5g 2 bars is not enough. But after that your app refused to resolve that error neither with a stronger signal nor after arriving home and connecting to WiFi. Other apps are not having a connection error.
