  • Useless unless you pay them

They only offer a 7-day free trial, or paid “premium”. No other options. Don’t bother downloading unless you’re willing to pay subscription
  • Gif issues

I have used this app for 8+ years. While it’s still the cleanest, by far, with respect to how much text you can see at one time, seems like there’s always an issue. GIF sound was off. That gets fixed and then random NSFW starts glitching. Cmon guys.

Narwhal 2 is magnitudes better than the official reddit app in almost every conceivable way and is objectively the best mobile app for Reddit currently on the market. It fixes or circumvents so many of the annoying issues that the official app has. One of the main advantages Narwhal has is how thoroughly it allows you to customize and tailor the user interface and gesture functions to better suit your own personal preferences. The app has a very simple and efficient design that I really appreciate. The developer of this app is very receptive to user feedback and is constantly updating the app and adding new features. There is a monthly fee to use the app due in part to Reddit’s decision to begin charging third-parties for use of its API, but honestly the cost is very reasonable and I don’t mind paying for it at all as it is necessary and helps supports the devs. Narwhal feels like the true successor to the late and great Apollo app. The two features that Narwhal does not currently have that I wish it did is (1) the ability to save posts/comments as images and (2) the ability to organize saved posts/comments into specific custom categories. Both of these features were features on Apollo and I really hope that they are eventually able to be implemented on Narwhal as well. In summation, Narwhal 2 is the best and I would very highly recommend trying it to anyone with an iPhone/iPad who uses Reddit on a regular basis.

Much better than the reddit app and worth paying the API fee. I didn’t quite like the way it looked but the developer lets you customize the appearance in pretty much every way. I wish the color bar beside each comment changed colors for each comment like Apollo had but that’s minor.

Apparently you must pay a fee of $3.99 per month in order to use their app at all, even though it said nothing about in app purchases. Very disappointing.
  • Not bad

It’s better than the official app, but not as convenient as previous, now defunct apps.
  • Charged me out of know where

I seen that it charged me so out of no where so I got on the app and there was a big apology letter stating that there getting charged by Reddit for posting there content and asked me if I wanted to do a 7 day free trial but after the fact they already charged me
