  • Gotten worse over the years.

Classic example of a product getting worse from trying to do too much. The free version from 10 years ago was better. Instead of focusing on their core product, they have tried to add on a bunch of trinkets and extras that add zero value. I think they’re trying to be everyone’s go-to weather app, and that’s just not what I’m looking for. Joel, please stop trying to be the Cheesecake Factory with eighty pages of menu, and get back to being the In-N-Out of actual snow forecasts. You used to be the best, now it’s just watered down.

OpenSnow is by far the best forecasting app out there. The daily snows are always so helpful when planning a ski day. The mapping features also help when looking for more specific information on the location I might be skiing. Super happy with what the OpenSnow team has created! 🤙🏻
  • Best Weather App | Must for Snowsports

Best resource for winter sports. Tahoe region forecaster Bryan Allegretto delivers a no-nonsense, non-hyperbolic forecast and then goes back to compare actual snowfall results against his predictions. Tons of useful features, maps, radar, and more. A must have app!

The app, and emails that come with it, are a must for any skier or mountain adventurer! OpenSnow is the only weather forecast I trust living in SW Montana.
  • One of the Few Apps I Happily Pay For

I originally downloaded Open Snow to track ski conditions - and it excels at this by offering tons of data organized regionally and by specific resort. But I found it to be a really useful general weather app, with lots of new map overlays, including (sadly necessary) things like wildfire smoke. It’s one of the weather apps that I not only happily pay for, but also evangelize to my friends. Great app!

The forecasts are often more reliable than many of the resort websites. Information is laid out in perfect order and easy to understand. 5 Day Hourly reliable with great data to understand wind, temp, snow … makes gearing up w the right attire easy.
