  • Frustrating, Disappointing Tennis-Centric App - Apple TV 4K

    I gave this app a try some years back, and I have to say that little has been done to improve it. it has a better user interface with dedicated sections for tournaments, live events and originals, but I have trouble signing in to TC PLUS or TV provider now and then. Video playback still glitchy with the occasional buffering issues, freezing up, and app crashing when selecting or playing a video, which can be frustrating. Tennis Channel promised to deliver direct-to-consumers content more than a year ago, but they still require a TV provider subscription to access the Tennis Channel live feed, and though the annual TC PLUS subscription is a good value, I don’t watch tournaments all year round so a monthly subscription would make more sense. Shortcomings aside, the streaming video quality is very good and you can access just about every tennis pro tournament there is—just fix those app issues and break away from cable/TV provider. Please! P.S. Update: there’s simply no excuse, this app is driving me mad, it’s unusable—I uninstalled and disconnected it from YouTube TV. The US is so innovative yet these huge media outlets can’t figure out how to stream sports efficiently. I can’t wait for Netflix, Prime Video and Apple TV+ to acquire all these properties so we can get reliable, high quality sports content.

    the app is by far the worst app in terms of technical maturity i have ever seen. cant count the number of times i have had to uninstall and reinstall. up until this summer (‘24) i could justify the cost by being able to see so many tournaments on demand… now those are gone. storage is cheap so the lack of older tournaments makes no sense… i’dd suggest trying another streaming service w tennis before this… oh…. and they dont have the grand slams

    OK since the update this app really got it together. I have ripped TC for past versions with one star scathing reviews but I have to give credit where credit is due. Easy to navigate the matches and sort by live, schedule, replay and by tournament. Still a few small glitches but all streaming apps do. I love watching tennis and thank you for the awesome upgrade and debugging.

    Listen to the reviews and stay away. Their streaming service is so bad I’d consider what they charge robbery. First they are unable to stream most tournaments including all the slams so if you want to watch the slams you will have to pay for another provider. Second their streaming quality is terrible I could never see the ball and it would randomly freeze. I thought it was my wifi but when I watched the Olympics on ABC and the U.S. Open on YouTube TV the picture was perfectly clear and zero glitching. YouTube TV is more expensive but has has streaming quality and all the channels that you’d need to catch every tournament including tennis channel. Couldn’t be more disappointed in the network that I grew up living on for all tennis content

    What happened? The recent update ruined half of the functionality of the app. Navigation is harder, I can no longer get ANY match full screen bc the button doesn’t work!!!!!! So I have to stare at 1/3 of my screen full of a menu?! Please fix

    This app does not show live matches in final days of tournaments. Offers replays - who cares at that point?

    Tennis Channel plus is absolutely terrible! The quality of streams is poor and the app is completely unreliable. Worst, recently they’ve stopped providing live streams of center court matches for Masters 1000s. This makes the app almost useless. Please do not get!!!

    This is by far the worse app I have ever used, be it free or paid. I feel I was scammed out of $130.00. For most programs you have to have tennis channel as part of a cable service. WTH? Skip it please. If I had cable tv why would I want it?

    No contents as promised. I missed all important matches. Phone support virtually does not exist. They pretend to be serving customers and put you on hold before disconnecting line themselves No respond to emails Regret being their customer. They won’t listen let alone refund for non servicing.

    "The Most Live Tennis Anywhere"? REALLY??? WHAT A JOKE! They can't even show the semi-final matches live! Even the matches at Mubadala, Toronto and now Cincinnati, most matches are TAPED! What a joke!
