  • I like the stories but…

    Okay I’m giving 4 stars because I like the stories they are really captivating and the concept of this app and people are complaining about the subscription I don’t have a problem with it. The only thing I don’t like is how the stories are rushed and sound very AI and as you are reading a book it says there is a certain amount of chapters like 200, but then you get to like chapter 10 for example and then there is an entirely different story in the same book. I don’t know if they will get to this point I but it would be nice make your own story and read others as well.

    I strongly advise against downloading or subscribing to NovelMates. After subscribing, I realized the app doesn’t deliver what it promises. I tried reaching out to their support multiple times to cancel my account — no one ever responded. They continue to charge your account with no way to stop it from within the app. There’s no clear way to delete your account or personal data, and they seem to ignore all emails. This app feels like a scam — be careful before signing up or spending any money.

    It tells you that you get a week free trial and then it’s .29 however it charged me immediately and there’s no way to cancel. It claims to go to the App Store then subscriptions however it doesn’t even show like my subscription exists at all outside the actual app.

    I signed up for .29 cents to check it out. Most stories are 200-400 chapters long and still going. So basically never ending stories. So I cancelled and the app still charged me 14.99 per WEEK for 3 weeks. $45 for app that refuses to be cancelled. Don’t sign up. It’s a scam

    Beware they make it impossible to cancel. $0.29 for a few days then they charge you $14.99 a week and say they cancelling is pending when you cancel account in settings and says cancellation happens on the 30th day which makes NO sense. They try to charge your card 2-3 times days to get the payment even when you canceled it over a week ago. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM LIKE I DID. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

    It’s true, there’s no way to cancel the trial period. After the first week they will charge you $14.99 per week. You’ll have to dispute the PayPal charge. However, I got into a couple very good books while on the app, so just be aware of the money issue. The books are not as well written as kindle, but the plot and dialogue keeps you hooked.

    If I use PayPal and basically give them access to it, it’s only $0.29 a week. But if I use Apple Pay it jumps up to a $6.99 weekly fee? No thank you. My payment method is valid and works, I shouldn’t have to pay an extra $6+ a week to keep my money safe while reading on your app. Trash.

    A waste of money for boring short stories that are all exactly the same. Poor writing, awful grammar, terrible spelling — honestly AI can do better so go ask chatgpt to write you some stories and binge all you want for free instead of this garbage fire of an app
