  • Stop touching it!

It has been fantastic but the recent update has made the app ineffective. Foods that are frequently eaten no longer pop up. Months if logging food and now all the options are just gone. Interface is different and I can’t add things with ease, I have to jump around to find what I want. Please please fix it and then stop touching it!!!!

The app is the main product they’re selling and over the past week it has not worked on half the days. Very buggy.

I’ve had so many issues with this app since day one. It got so bad that the company had to wipe my account and give me a new one. Nobody can tell me what the problem is, either. And no refund, they just did a continuation of charges from the new “start” date. I lost all of my progress, all of my data. The nutrition info for some items is incorrect and when you flag it to get it fixed? It can take months for them to review it. Some food items are marked in two different color categories, which makes no sense. Now two months later and all of the same tech issues are happening. App won’t work, I can’t log data or see my progress/ profile. It’s unreal. I can’t get a person on the phone. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app weekly. I have to force close and sign out then sign back in. It’s a mess! Fitbit won’t stay connected and all of my apps are up to date, so is my iOS. This app is frustrating and garbage and I’d like my full refund.

Never imports steps from iHealth now and also has been extremely flakey with having all of the course modules working.
  • Buggy App - poor support - expensive

This is a frustrating platform. Everyday is a hard boot to log your meals, you cannot make edits to the premium meal plan and the big 3, support, care team and coaches, will do nothing but loop you back and forth. They “feel your frustration” but no one takes action. The success of Noom lies in the marketing team. They get people to sign up for a buggy, expensive program for 3 months at a time, after which they will acknowledge your frustration, too. I’m off to hard boot this app again. Don’t put yourself in this situation!
  • Needs improvement

I don’t feel qualified to comment on the actual method and philosophy of the app, but there are a couple things about the app itself that definitely need improvement 1. When searching for food in the database the search allows for no variation in spelling, meaning even the smallest typo will not let you find the food you are looking for. Same goes with variations, for example if the food is listed “breadsticks” but you type “bread sticks” it will not find it 2. When searching food in the database it often does not suggest you commonly used foods first. It would make sense to put the items you constantly log on top of the list as presumably you will be eating more of it 3. The color coding is all over the place. A lot of food is color coded incorrectly . For example, “whole wheat bagel” is considered an orange food, but “Thomas’ whole wheat bagel” is a yellow food. Same goes with brown rice - even on the website it specifically states that they consider brown rice to be a green food, but it logs it as a yellow. All of this makes the analysis kind of useless and just leads to this app only working for counting calories, which there are much better trackers out there 4. The photo identification feature is absolutely useless and just randomly generates a food that has nothing to do with what’s on the photo. Why offer it as an option if it doesn’t work at all? Considering that this app is pretty expensive, I expected a much smoother experience

I wish I could give negative stars — please do not download this app. I am a broke college student and decided to try and lose weight with this app but justifying a $170 purchase. After a few months of continuous weight maintenance and lack of progress, I began to feel fatigued and my hair fell out. I had to seek medical assistance, and as it turns out Noom was encouraging me to eat way below my caloric intake and my body literally went into survival mode. My hair began to fall out, my body was fatigued, and my relationship with food was at an all time low. When I requested a refund, they told me I had to go through Apple Support, which was just another dead-end. I implore you if you are to do anything, do NOT download this app. It’s an expensive, dangerous Pandora’s Box. I wish I could have that money back to get groceries or put my rent for a roof over my head, but their greed simply builds and builds.

The program is very good but the app is unstable. The lessons have listening mode but that option disappeared regularly decreasing the experience.

Noom really has been such an anchor for me lately bc I enjoy it, it feels like just the right amount of work effort, it’s simple yet interesting, it’s a super cool app, there’s a personal coach to message on there, and I really feel like I’m making progress to be proud of towards my goals at my own pace. Highly recommend

Noom is a great program but the app never works! There’s a new problem every single day. So frustrating. And support just says “oh well” basically.
