Lived in many different cities across America. In my humble opinion the Globe will offer opinions on both sides of an issue, offer excellent investigative reporting and reports with integrity. Always look forward to opening up the Globe and getting local and national news

Too liberal and out of touch with average working Americans. The Globe is more focused on covering illegal immigrants and providing assistance than assisting homeless American citizens and homeless Veterans.
  • The Globe “rocks”

I live in Oakland. I didn’t think there would Be much of a need to follow this paper, but I find the writing to be excellent. So much so that I also read the local section even though I’m 3000 miles away.
  • Great content, horrible digital delivery

To be clear: the content is amazing. But the app is horrible including no ability to cancel the digital subscription in the app
  • News & puzzles

There’s always something new that I learn checking out Globe headlines. The Globe investigative teams and columnists are great—always enjoy Brian McGrory. And the puzzles have become my go to when I have a few minutes.

It was a pleasure to read the Globe when it popped p on my IPad as if it was the real paper. Now it is just pictures, had to find headlines, and difficult to read. And if one clicks on "epaper" it is almost worse. Impossible to find headlines, two pages on one page and if one cannot read fine print, forget it. The NYT has it right. The Globe is now in some deep pit. Update 8/26/24: I received and email from the devloper to click on the bottom for the e-paper. I have been doing that, my friend, and I get half pages. The old way was the best. Sorry Globe, but look at the NYT and you will see how it should be done, not the half a*&^% way you young 'uns have destroyed the Globe.
  • Battery life

Recently this app is killing my battery. I like the 5.0 update but it’s unusable like this - my phone heats up and iOS battery settings will regularly say this app used >20% of my battery after reading articles for 20-30min.
  • Good content, not a great app

Main issue is the refresh to the top of an article before I’ve finished reading, presumably from the ad refreshes. Reminds me of a bush league website that’s way too zealous in getting ad impressions. You can do better, Globe digital team
