It helps me and my family to pick the best product and the ones to avoid
  • Terrible company

This company says they are for the people but, they harass their members with mailers and emails trying to get us to renew when we are paid in advance. I have seen so many elderly people paid up to 2050 because they think they owe. Their families have to deal with it after they pass CR!!! I would not waste my hard earned money on a company with such disgusting policies. Use google and other sources to get accurate information because they do not keep up with products. Worst company I ever dealt with.
  • Bad redesign

Latest redesign removes tonnes of information. Categories are way to board and done let you drill down to the actual detailed categories nor is any info besides the one roll up rating available in the list view. This all makes comparisons in a category basically impossible with no information in the list and huge clutter of extra items that are not what you want. Best example is cars. The most detailed category is “suv” so three row and subcompact are all in a single useless list that doesn’t even say what class they are
  • No iPad version; limited product information

Update 9/2024: *Still* no native iPad version? Get with the program. Also, I’m shopping for a new mattress, but the app doesn’t filter by firmness. That’s the single most important factor! And it lists price, but not size — is that for Full? Queen? What? ____________ Hey CU — It’s 2019. Why haven’t you developed a version of the app that works with the iPad? Also, there’s not a lot of detailed information about products (e.g., mattresses) listed here. Everything that’s on the website should be available somewhere in the app, but it’s not.

I hate apps that break my login. I don’t remember all these and wasn’t home to look it up. Do better!
  • Crazy links

I go on here and I look at gas ranges and it brings them up. This is the free section and it says for sale on Amazon and it has a link and you touch the link and none of the gas ranges that I looked at are on Amazon, so I don’t know what tapping the link does. It’s just seems to be a waste So now I’ve joined and I put in 36 inch gas ranges and it only comes up with 30 inches the same width range hoods. It only comes to 30 inch range so it’s pretty much useless for what I’m looking for kind of disappointed. On further looking, I’m looking for a microwave drawer and it comes up with microwave. It doesn’t have a specific search you can’t put in wolf range or anything like that. It just brings up a whole list of ranges and you have to go through them one by one to try to pick it and that seems to apply to all categories. It’s just a pain in the butt. Sorry I bought it

over the last several years, I have come to trust consumer reports implicitly, and never buy anything without checking CR first! They have never steered me wrong.

The information seems outdated. I finally decided to purchase. The app is not user friendly can't find information except what is spoon feed to users. Not a ton of products truly tested. Don't know if ratings go from 100 being a good score or product of 100 bad based on the top 100 and can't find info for scoring without reading 20 pages. Got to stream line my research process. Waste money! Pretty sure going to cancel, can find the information given on any web page for free!
  • Different or not

They don’t disclose the margin for error or confidence interval so you have no way of telling whether you would likely recognize a difference between products or not.
